I often ask that question to myself as well.
China always tried hard to get hold of prime US weapons, experience themselves and develop their own, be it F-16, Sniper Pod, AAMs and countless other things that I don’t know. Turkey OTOH has a very stable and modern standard defence industry with access to advanced equipments of US and some others, give them time and they will come very high up, such that our total imports from China will reduce and some will be diverted to Turkey. Furthermore, Turkey is always interested to invite us for JV for some of their programs. Having both Turkey and China with us is a really miraculous advantage.

Influenced doesn't matter. What matter is Turkey having the whole indegenious equipments which is good. There should be diversity in our arsenal. Turks have made a great deal in defense. Western Technology isn't bad. Hope Pakistan JV's with Turkey on Hisar ADS

Turks are favourite for F22P MLU too. They have upgraded our first 90B and are going to upgrade our remaining two. There T129 outperformed the Z10

You need to deal with someone of your size. Moreover Turkey has NATO grade weapons and at this moment they want to sell their weapons to increase their credibility. So we have somewhat of leverage in this case.

This visit is about forging a new strategic bloc first and foremost. Which will be about full cooperation in trade & economy, foreign policy & diplomacy and defense. This is probably being spearheaded by Turkey & Malaysia with the tacit approval of China & even Russia to some extent. Pakistan, Qatar & perhaps Iran will be the other initial members of the alliance. Everything else is secondary at the moment.

I never said “Military drone”, however, Fawad chaudry mentioned a total of 13 deals have been signed. 3 are for Ministry of Science, but STM met Madam Zubaida Jalal as well so expect something in terms of defence as well.

And this officer from Airforce is having some book as well, might be a contract sign or something but usually those contract signing books are fancy while this isn’t

Turkey have SOM CM family which is now needed to tackle evolving threats, SOM-J can be our ALCM for 5th gen fighter.

I also want to see that happen in a form of JV for a longer range version of SOM-J variant
