Pakistan to send astronauts into space in two years :Air chief Marshal

If it is a free trip than OK else the funds could be diverted to some viable civilian/defence project.

. . . .
Congratulations.........And all the very best....

But do carefully read the OP.... is there a definite plan or just statement.... could be the case of agency messing up with words....

But he said one more big thing.... JF17 is better than F16

.
Well i would digress and ask the gentleman to first lay out plans for SLV prior to making bombastic claims which are pipedreams.

.
congrats to pakistan... what will you call your astronauts, will it be pakinaut? apparently chinese ones are taikonauts....
Hahahahahaha
We will be hottynauts
sending astronauts into space is not a small step , it's huge
Why sending astronauts is a big deal what benefits it brings? Sending missions is understandable but putting humans in non human friendly atmosphere gives what benefits

@django bro honestly i have never understood why astronaut missions are so glorified

.
One of my friends from air university mentioned that his friend heard the same thing from Air Force chief but I can't confirm it.

Did you ever happen to read the comments made by @django before replying? He clearly mentioned indigenous
This thread is about Pakistan space program not India ..

.
so you mean to say... IVC defines desi... good logic.
Open a new thread and will be happy to debate with you on IVC and desi whatever the hell that is supposed to mean, one thing I can be certain of Ganga and Afghanistan are not part of one greater culture culture PERIOD

Initially it was symbolic as their was a space race going on between USSR and USA, subsequently the Chinese did it for prestige, but prestige aside all space faring nations want to have space stations in space where they can conduct scinetific experiments etc besides their are so many spin-offs in tech that have arisen due to mans leap into space, example the development of spacesuits resulted in https://spinoff.nasa.gov/Spinoff2005/ch_1.html .Kudos

. .
Well i wont comment if the claims made are tall or not, but the 5th gen jets and the space program seems to be steps in the right direction even if they are just on paper. As far as the funds are concerned i think these would be arranged from defense budget. The area that does actually require improvement is our Economy. Our Economic Managers have failed miserably so is our Diplomacy. We really need to work on these.

Ok one last question. Is it impossible to operate a space station without human presence like do all space station require humans on board

.
This could mean serious leap for Pakistan...two years is a very short time..it takes more than this to train astronauts for their first mission..it means Pakistani astronauts are already being trained somewhere deep in China or Russia..

Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman has announced that Pakistan will able to send astronauts into space with the collaboration of China within two years.

He was addressing as chief guest to the inauguration session of AirTech’17 conference, hosted by Air University, Islamabad.

Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, in his keynote address on Leadership, Education & Society Development, said that the purpose of education system must be to introduce latest technologies and contribute something positive for the betterment of society as a whole.

He also urged the importance of industry-academia cooperation. In this regard, he asked industry professionals to guide universities what kind of skills are needed.

No doubt, Pakistani students are talented, intelligent and hard-working but to achieve success in life goals, unconditional faith, firm commitment and tireless struggle are essential. He said.

The Air Chief emphasized that most important segment of an education system must be character building of students. He said that every fellow human-being deserves respect equally. “Without practicing good values, there is no purpose of any kind of success,” he said, while adding that a role model leader must have courage to take tough decisions at the time of crisis.

He further said that Pakistan is annually manufacturing 16 to 20 JF-17 aircraft which are much better than F-16 planes in performance. Talking about importance of national defence, he said that currently Pakistan is on right track to curb terrorism. The Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman emphasized that security, stability and prosperity are interlinked in the today’s world.

On the occasion, Vice Chancellor of Air University AVM (r) Faaiz Amir highlighted the key aspects of the AirTech’17 conference.

Normally the best people to go up would be air force personnel. Fighter pilots with engineering backgrounds would help.....but there ain't much of them in PAF (not to mention fitness issues alone). Test pilot school graduates would be the ideal candidates for the astronaut program. Then again...who knows what exactly is happening.

The performance part for JF-17 over F-16 is a little amusing.
