Pakistan to Produce Al-Khalid-II Tanks

‘Pakistan has paced up work to manufacture Al Khalid II tanks while production of modern assault rifles is also in final stages. The country is also producing state of the art bulletproof jackets.’

This information was shared by the Minister for Defense Production Rana Tanveer Hussain while briefing the Senate Standing Committee on Defense Production.

The committee also recommended that the government expedite efforts for the construction of a shipyard at Gwadar.

The meeting, chaired by Senator Lt. General (r) Abdul Qayyum, also reviewed export details for FY 16-17 for Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) Kamra, Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF), Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT).

The meeting also reviewed the domestic commercial sales of POF, HIT, National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC) and Karachi Shipyard.

The meeting was attended by Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain, as well as Senators Mian Muhammad Ateeq Shaikh, Nuzhat Sadiq, Rubina Khalid, Sehar Kamran, Brig (r) John Kenneth Williams and officials of concerned departments.

Officials of Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works Limited briefed the meeting about the proposed shipyard at Gwadar. They said that a summary to set up the shipyard had been moved to the Prime Minister and the Planning Commission for approval. The panel was informed that investment from a Chinese partner was also available for the project.

The Committee expressed concerns that work on the proposed shipyard had been delayed for around four years and recommended that it should be started immediately.

It wasnt smooth Sailing for Pakistan either
For last decade pakistan has been stuck in wot
Which isnt cheap
Majority of resources were and still are being used in that area
These projects do become later priority when whole country is on the brink of destruction

As soon as economy Grows , have a felling till 2022 you will see loads of newer weapon systems from different origin in the hands of Pakistan army
In past 2 3 years PA done evaluations of many different weapon systems next 2 3 years will be buying years

It's a picture of T-90 MS an export variant of Russian T-90 but this not going to be the one as AlKhalid-2.
Al-Khalid-2 will be the extensively upgraded version of AlKhalid-1. If you are expecting something new then look into Al-Haider tank program which probably going to be different in its class altogether.

Its almost done deal as per some Senior members here, and Pakistan's military and Govt Officials Visit there in recent past, there was a display Oplot-P version shown in actions ,which is most likely for Pakistan .. PA may order 100 Oplot-P along with new upgraded , more HP engine , which will make the main Engine for AK-2 Program

It can't be explained in one line and the whole forum is filled with information regarding both Alkhalid and T-90. All you need to do some search and reading .
