Pakistan to lease Nuclear sub from China?

Where is source ???

Yar common .. how many thread without a single source ....

News about nuke sub is not confirmed and people here discussion about class (which one they like)

India's short term lease of a Charlie 1 Class SSGN in 1988 resulted in negotiations with Pakistan for a lease of a Han. Pakistan's request for one was withdrawn when India returned the Charlie 1 in 1991. > precedent

ALSO, see first post: "Pakdef exclusive"
If explcusive, it isn't anywhere else.....

.
And what is Pakistan going to do with this nuclear sub leased from China?

Add a layer of complexity for IN naval planners, given SSN's specific capabilitues (notably sustained high underwater speed, semi-unlimited endurance).

.
What do you think countries do with such an asset. It will not only increase our minimum credible deterrence but also provide us with an important second strike capability.

SSN not SSBN > if your 533mm torpedo tube equipped SSKs can't fire Babur from their tubes, then a similarly equiped SSN can't either. You'ld need an SSBN or an SSN with 650mm tubes (or bigger, depending on the diameter of Babur)

.
Please avoid inflammatory language such as 'junk' when referring to various systems. The Pak Navy has so far not shown a tendency to merely procure assets for the sake of procuring them. It will not spend limited resources on a nuclear sub without thoroughly analyzing how it would fit in with their doctrine.

Honestly, even i think the Type 091 is junk, there is no way that China would try to make money from Pakistan by recycling this piece of garbage. We would not be demoralized like that.

.
Because both UK and US are members of MTCR ..whereas while China is not formally a member of MTCR, it has agreed to abide by its rules and pledged not to engage in proliferation of Ballistic missiles.

No country can buy a Nuke sub, but only lease it(as there was loop hole in the Hague rules as well as NPT) ..and if it wants to master this tech..it will have do it on its own as all other countries have ..because international protocol forbid China from it.

Here we go again about the MTCR!!

IF you are a not a member of MTCR, you can't be bound by it, can you? Whatever restraint you exercise is self imposed. Neither Pakistan nor China is a member of MTCR. SO besides you nobody gives two hoots about it!

We've have already covered MTCR in the following thread:
http://www.defence.pk/forums/naval-forces/97041-pakistan-acquire-six-submarines-china.html
You were very active on the above thread, So why are you bringing it up again??

Well thats why we replaced it with the 093 in 2002. Now the 095 will be in service in a few years or already is in service.

Yes it is voluntary commitment by China..infact China tried to enter MTCR in 2004 but was rejected..as its proliferation standards were not upto the mark.

But do you have any source..which claims that China has agreed to break its voluntary commitment and bilateral agreement with US and decided to proliferate ballistic missile tech to Pakistan?
Because otherwise all this talk is just hot air.

This thread is about PN leasing a Nuke Sub NOT MTCR.

DO NOT derail the thread. Stick to the topic.

I am sticking the topic..all I am asking is does anybody have a credible source stating that China is ready to break it international commitment and give Pakistan SLBMs along with SSBN or even SSBN/SSN in the first place?

Wait and see :chilli:

.
China would not be stupid to be hard pressed on Tibet n Taiwan issue by western powers who would be startled by China's move to sell Nuke sub to terrorism prone country.......

China is responsible that way...its not gonna happen..

Of course not!! China can build nuclear power plants in Pakistan, but can't sell Nuke Sub's - You guys are soooo smart!!!

.
not even a single productive argument so far other than that of Penguin just fighting for the ego's sake

. .
Even if China provides Pakistan with SLBM openly still the world can't do anything because we all know China works on her own terms and conditions ,there have been many cases in the past where the world kept shouting but China did what they were suppose to
