Well essentially that is the product of a democratic process. People DO want to hug and kiss the Taliban and that campaign is spearheaded by the PTI which was essentially the favourite of those that went to school and also smoked sheesha. Hence, if these voters are ok with talking to the Taliban along with a majority of KP and most of Punjab.. then essentially the majority of the nation wants to talk to the very people who killed 40000 of them(or is it them or not them.. its confusing when 40000 dead are not our dead but are our dead.. I've got a headache just going around it). So if the majority of the nation is OK with forgiving the murder of some 40000 of their dead(unless they were not Pakistanis in that case its even more logical) then you and I should accept the majority in its demand for talks. After all, the majority is extremely well aware and our countrymen are one of the most well informed populations on the planet(perhaps competing with India in their "informed" status) and more importantly are VERY content with what they know to be sufficient(without further investigation needed).
So, in light of the above we must now look into the fallout of this man's death; who will fill the leadership gap?
Are there existing contenders who are
- Better: willing to have reasonable level of negotiations with the government to perhaps a ceasefire and drawdown to the conflict and disarmament in return for stricter shariah laws in ONLY FATA.
- Same: Willing to have negotiations with the government to perhaps a ceasefire and drawdown to the conflict(against our forces) in return for promise of total implementation of Sharia all over Pakistan .
- Worse: Not willing to negotiate unless there is total implementation of Sharia all over Pakistan observed and supervised by them and Jihad is carried out against those Pakistanis that do not agree with them.
- Worst: Multiple splinter groups each with their own interpretation and essentially Mercs for sale to the highest bidder, be it India, Israel or Murica.. or GCCians..etc. (sorry Iran.. you cant buy em because essentially due to your majority being of different sect you are essentially worse than Zionists to the TTP and its likes)
I place my bet hopes on better but expect a start from same to Worst... thankfully it might skip worse in the process due to infighting for leadership between these groups.
The real question of course here is " Why cant the Pakistani nation see the plain and obvious truth " then ? Why cant they realize that these so called " Mujahids " and " defenders of Islam " are actually anything but such ? Heck , they do not even have anything to do with the religion being involved in all sorts of criminal/terrorists activities throughout the country , they claim to fight for " enforcing the law of religion in God's land " . Is it the same byproduct of the first Afghan war fought for a superpower , radicalizing the nation in the process ? I was disappointed to see that my " hard worked " article didn't spark any serious debate , I hoped it to . Trust me , commander , the PTI's case is a curious one . Yes the kids and the educated people you talk about , voted for them but for a little different reason elsewhere , they just wanted a change . On the other hand , you had a whole province ready to embrace the " madness " of Taliban Sharia as long as got the " peace " from these psychopaths . Today , you see the same voters condemning the PTI's stance towards dealing with terrorists and with almost every sympathy they have for the anti state elements . There was no change in the first place , every new leader gets a telephone call from Washington D.C. , let our position be very clear here . You may want to update the figures , sire , its 64,000+ now and the dead Mehsud is already branded as a " martyr " fighting for a " righteous cause " of murdering/harassing/looting people . What should I term this stupidity ? I say that let the majority try for a while to negotiate , they will finally learn their lesson like the Swatis did , back then .
The whole argument rests on something else , was the killed man content and supportive of such ? I would say " NO " , their blood lust was still going even though the Govt was willing to talk , just look at the attacks in Peshawar . Blind aren't only the eyes as the Holy Quran mentions . To be really honest , I do not understand this special case of " FATA " , is it not a part of our country ? Even semi autonomous , why are we having such difficulty in integrating the people with the rest ? Why should even the army leave a part of its country ? Maybe , we should better sign a " succession " of the area in question if things continue like this . What does this symbolic hold means anyways ? The writ of the Govt of Pakistan isn't applicable in those areas , seriously why ? It has been nearly 66 years since Independence .
Leaving that all , the TTP has decided not to continue any sort of peace talks with the state . Actually , we are expecting much worse after the American withdrawal .
