As all Pakistanis, I love Cricket. The loss of cricket at home has been the biggest pain and cost of this decade of terrorism. I fear we may never see cricket in Pakistan again.

. . .
Chris Gayle , certainly did not perform based on his past reputation and his record world wide in T20 format , it will be interesting to see if he would be retained or dropped in next match

He was disappointing for Lahore as well last year. Maybe UAE pitches dont suit him :/? He is a world class player no doubt.

Gladiators overpower Qalandars in high-scoring PSL encounter

In the 11th fixture of the second edition of Pakistan Super League, Lahore Qalandars played Quetta Gladiators for the second time in this tournament, but the outcome wasn't much different — a nail-biting encounter that finished with Quetta being the winners.

Chasing the 201-run mammoth target set by Lahore Qalandars, Quetta Gladiators kept losing wickets at regular intervals in the first half of their innings. However, Kevin Pietersen and Gladiators' skipper Sarfraz Ahmed steadied their ship.

Pietersen hammered 88* off 42 balls and turned the match around for Gladiators. Sarfraz contributed with 45 runs off 25 balls to set the course for victory.

Earlier, Qalandars scored 200 for the loss of three wickets, with Jason Roy, Fakhar Zaman and Rizwan doing the bulk of scoring.

Fakhar Zaman and Jason Roy opened the batting for Qalandars and managed to put 77 runs on board for the first wicket partnership.

Jason Roy was the first to depart. He scored 51 off 27 balls before being bowled by Hassan Khan in the seventh over.

Fakhar Zaman scored 47 off 31 balls before Zulfiqar Babar got him caught at deep midwicket.

Mohammad Rizwan remained unbeaten on 46 while Cameron Delport was also not out on 35 off 21 balls.

The last time when both teams played each other it was a nail biting encounter which ended in favour of Gladiators.

Pakistan's first PSL livestream crosses 1 million views in 3 days

‘Nobody in Pakistan watches cricket on livestream’.

This is a mere perception which is not supported by actual facts. The fact is that with the dawn of the digital age, internet penetration in Pakistan has gone over 20%, with one out of 5 Pakistanis using the internet as their primary choice of media exposure.

As a first foot forward, PCB's official media marketing right holders of the HBL PSL, Blitz Advertising launched Pakistan’s first exclusive content livestream (in partnership with ITW and Trans Group) on cricketgateway.pk, exclusively for PSL 2017 viewers.

With over 1,800 unlicensed streams blocked on DRM, this initiative has proven to be a win-win for both advertisers and subscribers.

When it comes to numbers, Pakistan's first exclusive content livestream outperformed expectations and viewership crossed the one million mark in a record three days.

A 100% of in-stream ad inventory was sold and booked at 1.8 times the price expectation from the market and brands like Pepsi, Nestle, Haier, ABL, Oppo, Shell and 12 others flocked into the picture. Complete inventory lockdown was seen within 72 hours of opening.

"With 63% internet penetration in Lahore alone, livestream content will be King in times to come, and we look forward to exclusive content partnerships with major brands and agencies to establish our foothold as a premier digital content provider in times to come," Executive Director Blitz Advertising Kashif Amin said.

Islamabad United beat Peshawar Zalmi by 5 wickets

Batting second, Islamabad United chased 137-run target set by Peshawar Zalmi in the second match of Saturday in the second phase of the second edition of Pakistan Super League, beating them by five wickets in a nail-biting finish on the last ball of the match.

Islamabad had restricted Zalmi to 136 for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. But it took them exactly 20 overs to chase down the target, with Amad Butt scoring the winning runs on the last ball of the inning for United.

Dwayne Smith carried bat for the United as he remained unbeaten on 72 off 59 balls, seeing his team through despite the wickets kept falling at regular interval at the other end.

There were a few good starts in the Islamabad United's inning but no one able to bank on it to make a big total.

Eoin Morgan made 28 off 28 balls before falling prey to Shadab Khan. Wahab Riaz made a quick fire 23, which included scoring 21 runs in one over of Shane Watson, but he was soon clean bowled by Mohammad Sami.

Sami and Rumman Raees were the pick of bowlers for United. Sami took three wickets at an economy of 6.5 in four overs, while Raees took two scalps at an economy of 4.75 in his allotted quota.

Something special always to see Mohammad Sami bowl , the Level difference between his generation and new one is tremendous , certainly he is almost at his farewell period from game yet he has that Patended agression and BITE that newer players lack

Imran Khan
Wasim Akram
Waqar Younis
Aquid Javed

Unfortunately for Amir , his raw talent has not developed into a Potent 10 over guy
