Few things i would like to mention....

Hatf missile we started to develop in early 80s even we started to produce rocket based on French models in early 70s.....
Why always ISPR announce different range every time for same missile?

Because ballistic missiles build to travel maximum range like shaheen but if you want to fire the same missile but less than a full range then you need yo change trajectory, to master this we need to continuously test same missile with different range... "lower than maximum" and ISPR little troll us as well as the enemy by announcing only the tested range.

After ISPR statement we should not have any doubt that it is simply a Training Exercise by ASFC.

Yes, training exercise carries immense importance, because it has to be fired by actual user at different time intervals and not by the scientists as in case of a test.

Max range of Shaheen 1 series 900 Kms but this test carried out by suppressed trajectory to avoid ABM hence the range decrees.

Shaheen 1A is ~950 KM.
Shaheen 1 is still 650 KM

Depressed Flight will make any Ballistic missile to have lesser than max range
