Pakistan should pull out of British commonwealth

China doesn’t want a “Permanent Alliance”. Pakistan has to work for itself. No country is coming to bail us out of the recurring problems we do to ourselves.

To get China’s support and keep it, countries have to be supportive of their international positions and build up their own economies to provide opportunities for their companies to do business. For that we need to earn export revenues, and most of that is done with the west.

Causing unnecessary problems with the west is worse then pointless, it’s counter productive. The commonwealth means nothing but it does maximizes trade and people’s ability to travel.

If we want to exit the commonwealth down the road, we need to lay the economic ground work to not need it anymore. This will take decades of political and economic stability. Just look at how important Hong Kong was in 1997 for China to do business with the west, and now in 2022, it has been replaced by China’s own internal financial industry.

Let’s build up the country over the next 25 years at an annual year on year growth of at least 8-9% and Inshallah revisit the idea then. At that point the British will want to maintain business ties on new terms, just like China is doing now.
The whole idea of being in the British Commonwealth is to take advantage of the western societies for higher education, job opportunities, economic reasons.

We are already short of allies and a very few civilized ones. Britain with the number of mainstream Pakistanis is an asset.
More like a place fir looters and chors to park their laundered money…..all corrupt chors from the world live there in luxury….London specially

Pata nai konsa asset ha ?

should pullout of British Commonwealth

permanent alliance with China
What’s the point of pulling out of commonwealth then? From one kaffirs slave to another?
There’s no such thing as friends when it comes to countries it’s only interests
Slave of west or slave of east, it’s still being a slave

When the West exploits and takes advantage of countries in the developing world,
Not just west but any country with the ability to do so does. Bigger African countries do to smaller ones. Similarly china does to many developing countries.
In the world no one is your friend. It’s just interests and for their interests a country will use you like tissue and throw you away

It’s basically a talking club with no real powers or value. but without expecting anything practical to come from it (except a bunch of medals in Commonwealth Games). Lol

That’s why we need a strong government in Pakistan to take advantage of the benefits and minimize the costs. Eventually, phasing out the need for membership in the commonwealth. With Brexit and especially after the queen passes away, the British will feel less and less desire to maintain commonwealth kinds of ties with former non-settler based colonies.

Look at how the Indians are gaining ground in all levels of western society, through merit and politics, and in about a generation may have considerable influence. Pakistan needs to get its act together to get ahead of this foreseeable problem.

The commonwealth is just one domain, if used smartly still has the potential to allow Pakistan to catch-up.

But China and Pakistan share common interests. Did you ever realize that.

No wonder why many Pakistani intellectuals such as myself advise ditching the West for China.

Even do dual nationality with China.

Exactly ditch the West for China.

China doesn’t want to be Pakistan’s patron, they want a partner that can more than carry its own share of the burden, so that China can supercharge its growth and share in the benefits itself; I.e. Win-win.

Yes but Pakistan can offer Gwadar and Karachi ports and China can improve the Pakistani economy.

Yes the War in Afghanistan is over now.

China will invest heavily in Pakistan now.

In fact China bought all the Pakistani stocks on the KSE a while ago.

China can improve Pakistan's economy and reputation as well.

Pakistan needs to reach a certain level of stability and economic momentum for Chinese investors to be willing to put their money in. Otherwise, Chinese investors think they will lose their money and will charge high interest on loans. We need to build confidence to attract FDI and not loans.

We also need to improve our reputation. Perhaps China can give us ICBM technology.

ICBMs that can reach Russia and UK.

Come on... why would China give ICBM tech, and attract unneeded attention? Just look at what’s going on with North Korea.

At most just expect tech to keep India at bay.

Pakistan should pullout of British Commonwealth.

Just do permanent alliance with China.

British Commonwealth is all nonsense.

Pakistan secured favourable trade concessions through the commonwealth, nations also share knowledge on development and cooperate on international goals.
At this point in time Pakistan needs voice and all the potential allies it can get.
What good would it do to walk away from an international organisation in the name of self-respect when the leaders loot and plunder in the name of themselves, and look to the US establishment for guidance.
Look at India, with a strong economy, good governance and powerful military they are still in the commonwealth as they know how to handle foreign affairs.

True waz bhai.

Some argue is USA in British Commonwealth? The whole point of being in British Commonwealth is to take advantage of Western societies.
