Armenia, independent since 1991, is currently not recognised by one UN member, Pakistan, as Pakistan has a position of supporting Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict

Pakistan is the only state not to recognize Armenia...? Why are we doing this? Turkey recognizes Armenia itself! And it also recognizes Bangladesh.

We accept the Bangladeshi genocide yet we deny the Armenian genocide..

Also we should recognize Kosovo and Israel as well, we need to stop sucking up to other countries opinions and make our own decisions!

We have two allies, turkey and azerbaijan. If we start toting that genocide crap we may lose them.

Sure we boost relations with Armenia, but not at the cost of our true friends.

It's a small country with low population and poor GDP so it has no influence towards the world whereas Azerbaijan supports Pakistan's stance on Kashmir issue, economically stronger with higher population and a Muslim state. On top of that Turkey is always standing besides Azerbaijan so we would get greater support if we remain in this block.

I don't see any difference whether we recognize Armenia or not but we would at least get one extra vote on Kashmir issue if we maintain our relationships with Azerbaijan.

I am in favour of developing relationship with every nation including Kosovo and Israel. But that does not mean we should do it over the risk of something really precious for us. We need Azerbaijan's support in the United Nations and Armenia may not be as useful as Azerbaijan. Relationships are not built upon the personal choice but the common interests and at the moment Azerbaijan is offering us more than Armenia. We should probably recognize Armenia but keep supporting Azerbaijan.

I don't have a problem with recognizing Armenia. As a Pakistani, I have a big problem with this ARMENIAN GENOCIDE concept.

No such Genocide took place. A huge migration took place and people died while travelling on foot. It was'nt like the Turkish soldiers were killing anyone. We should not buy into this Western propaganda to bash Turkey.
