Pakistan sees huge jump in Chinese visitors

hmm this is a great news pakistan is growing inshallah pakistan will make a new history in the world :)

To Indians in this thread, why must you people always destroy the postive climate and always fight. This thread is about Pakistan-China , says nothing about India.

I can't say much about numbers but there is definitely an increase in number of Chinese visitors here in Karachi.

The chinese here in Karachi might not be tourists but might be on business tour or because of projects related to CPEC. I see chinese daily on my drive from Shahrah e Faisal to DHA. Sometimes they are driving by themselves and sometimes they are with a driver.

In any case there is definitely an increase of Chinese visitors.
@PaklovesTurkiye @IceCold @dexter and other members from Karachi would also agree with me

Good news. China is a friendly country and Pakistanis would welcome them with open arms.

Jealousy. Let them burn whilst we welcome our friends.

This is indeed a great development and expresses the confidence in improving security.

There was no comparison with India anywhere and we dont it anyway but our Indian members keep bringing it in. Did India go through hell like we did since 2004? Did India lose its children in terror attack on school like we did? Have some sense of perspective before comparing.

Dont forget @Areesh that someone is trying to scare away Chinese by targeting them in Karachi. Who it might be I dont need to explain.

With improving security situation, it is only natural for people to visit PK.

With increasing JVs between PK and Chinese businesses this will only grow.

However, PK must keep in mind that those who want ill to your good country will try to target Chinese citizens.

Your hospitality industry need to come up with a good business plan and start marketing in China.

There is a great good will in China at peoples level towards PK. You can capitalise on this in positve way.

Since every Chinese citizen is treated with respect and love in PK, everyone goes back to tell a positive story about there visit to their friends and neigbours.

This is how good and bad word spreads. But your gov also craft a comprehensive plan to attract Chinese tourists.

Last year Chinese tourists spent 200 bln dollars abroad... and the potential is only growing.

But the security must be water tight. Pak people are no threat to Chinese citizens.. its the trouble makers from the western border and eastern border that are danger.

All the best. Great times ahead for Sino-Pak freindship at common peoples level.

Rawalpindi has a historic Uighyur community numbering almost 6000 mostly near sadar region but twin cities as whole havr abput 10-15k Chinese
In Sadar cantt, Chinese been settled , since late 60s. They have good established businesses.

just give the number... is it 37? 370000? ... without number the report is useless to debate about..
That's none of your business. It is Pakistan and China who are only concerned parties. Why are you so obsessed with it?
There is no need for debate. This is a great news and we (Pakistanis and Chinese) loving it :smitten::china::pakistan:
Basically it signifies the immense increase in relation between the two friendly nations in all spheres of life.

I am from lahore yar. Aisa to na kero lol. On a serious note chinese presence is felt in Lahore as well. Wherever you go shopping malls or anyplace else, you would find few chinese roaming here and there. This wasnt the case few years back. The numbers have increased.

Yes....I hope their presence also grows in other towns of cities...right now, most of them are being located in posh areas i think....

The more interaction with common Pakistanis the more stronger our friendship will be...

I hope that after the completion of CPEC and betterment of economy, not only Chinese but tourist from all over the world to Pakistan will increase tremendously and our towns and cities will look more like international metropolitan areas. We would need to improve and strengthen the security since our jealous neighbour will try her best to sabotage that through terrorism.

ISLAMABAD - The number of tourism visa application to Pakistan submitted by Chinese in the first half year of 2016 jumped by 37 folds, according to an industry report.

According to China daily the visa center of Ctrip, a leading online travel agency in China, said new tourism destinations are increasing as top choices of Chinese mature outbound tourists and Pakistan is “a dark horse” this year.

“Driven by the strong relations between the two countries, many Chinese tourists put Pakistan on the top list of their outbound travel plans,” said Shi Yuzhuan, marketing director of the hotel division of ctrip.
com.

Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain said earlier that his country firmly supports China’s principles and positions on key issues concerning the South China Sea, Taiwan and Tibet, winning wide support and praise from Chinese netizens.

In the past, despite the close relations between China and Pakistan, the country in South Asia did not attract too many international tourist arrivals due to security reasons.

In 2015, Chinese tourists paid 120 million visits to countries and regions outside Chinese mainland.
However, the majority of them went to Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, as well as some western countries such as the United States and Britain.

Shi Yuzhuan, Chief Marketing Officer of Ctrip, said visits paid by Chinese outbound tourists would keep growing in the following years, however, their preferences have changed.

“Many traditional popular tourism destinations are losing visitors.
For an example, France has less Chinese visitors because of terrorist attacks,” said Shi.
“On the other hand, Chinese tourists are getting more mature and they would like to explore new destinations.

Besides Pakistan, tourism destinations including Kenya, Finland, Egypt, South Africa, Argentina, Czech, Israel, Iceland, received more visa applications from Chinese tourists in the first half year of 2016.

“Many of the visa applications were from second- and even third-tier cities of China,” said Shi.
“For example, the visa applications to Czech submitted from second- and third-tier cities jumped by five folds after Czech opened more visa centers in five cities.

Nothing unusual. All countries on the planet are seeing a jump in Chinese visitors. Russia, USA, Singapore, India, African nations, Tibet...... You name it. The question should be in which countries is it not happening?
