What's new

Pakistan’s path of denial.

The problem is not merely moping about it, but working on the root cause of every problem that Pakistan is facing. What are the people doing about the daily bombs going off ? What are people doing about Loadshedding ? What are people doing about incidents that leads to a public suicide in front of the Parliament no less ? What are people doing about the massive debt incurred by the state ? It is this that the writer is concerned about. The seeming indifference of brushing every problem under the rug, waiting for a bigger one to arrive, and then another one, and then another, until the fragility will cause an Arab spring like situation is what the author is trying to highlight.

People are working on the root causes. All these problems take time to solve. Militancy cannot be quelled in hours, days or months. It took Srilanka 26 years to quell the Tamil Insurgency. As for load shedding, the problem is not that we do not have power-generation capability, it's that we lack the finances to buy oil for our Thermal PPs. Until we can work on alternate power generation sources, we will have to bear with load shedding.

No matter what, Pakistan won't collapse, China will support Pakistan at any cost.

The collapse of Pakistan means the end of China's journey for superpower. Do you really think China will allow this to happen?

If we couldn't become the superpower, then we could only be perished forever.

Do you think China was saying this for fun? But keep in mind we are warning against the most powerful country in the World!!!

Dont mistake chinese modesty for weakness or perception. Not every one has wet dreams about being Incredible super power designate. Its like someone strong doesnt need to make a point of it. Yet someone who is weak makes a big point of it. Its like usually a superiority complex is there to hide an inferiority complex.

Back to topic we have been hearing about pakistans path of denial etc for many years. Pakistan exists and will continue to do so. Dont worry on our behalf.

At any cost ? You're just being naive. I hope the Pakistani's aren't as optimistic either. China arms Pakistan because it serves China's interests. All the Chinese weapons sold to Pakistan are meant for use against India, without deploying a single Chinese soldier and at the same time China gets paid for those weapons. Even if China arms Pakistan for free they will still benefit from the deal as they are only paying for the weapons and not the soldiers who use them.

If China genuinely wanted to help Pakistan, there is a lot more China is capable of doing to develop and improve the situation in Pakistan. Pakistan needs infrastructure and trade more than weapons.

If that BBC documentary is correct all it takes is a phone call from the ISI chief to formally integrate the terrorists into the armed forces.

Israel had similar difficulties in the first few days after independence. It fought one battle with a splinter faction and then orderedits integration with the IDF and subject to its orders. Took maybe a week.
