Pakistan’s economy grows by 3.7% in FY12: SBP annual report

with all this corruption and militancy if we can do this once things are normal 12-15% wont be an issue for a state like us who has the potential to serve and connect half the population of world..India ,china on one hand and iran, afghanistan and central asian staes and russia on the other...LONG LIVE PAKISTAN:pakistan:

.
PPP has a monkey genius called zardari sitting on the throne, for nearly four and half years we grew at less than 2%, but suddenly the evil clown just did some tricks to shoot the growth rate till the elections are over

Is this Batman.

.
For a country like Pakistan with low FDI, high inflation, WOT and political instability 3.7% economic growth is good it will keep growing, we have to make more economic friendly policies and encourage investment.

Yeah but i was talking about if use full potential of our strategic location and make peace at home with gwadar fully functional and peace with india(ofcourse after settling kashmir) letting india and china trade via pakistan our country would be the fastest growing economy in the world.Considering the potential and motivation we see in our youth these days its not impossible at all.

Can anyone please answer...what is Pakistans population growth rate?

1.55% as per CIA factbook.

https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/pk.html

@ topic. Real GDP growth rate of 3.7% is fine i suppose, one cant really ask for much more considering the political instability, power shortages, terrorist bombings that exist in the country as well as the global financial crises. But Pakistan has the potential for a much higher growth rate.

.
It is still the lowest growth in South Asia... very sad governance and economic policies by PPP

Thanks Allah that in presidency of Zardari It is growing....:D:rofl:

It averaged 5% during Musharraf... even though he was a dictator. It reached 8.4% in 2005 which was the second highest in the world that year. Zardari has had an average of 2%.

Well the problem with Pakistani economy is not that it can't grow. Any country with a population of 50-200 million can grow like South Korea and within 3 decades completely go from 0 to hero. I dont even think that leadership is the problem in pakistan.

The main problem lies type of governance. If you keep switching from dictatorship to democracy you will keep loosing and winning.
If you wanna win all the time stick to one form of the government. Remember democracy takes time to show results. It took India almost half a century to achieve 9%.

Btw I really believe that instead of being in N11 Pakistan deserves to be a part of BRIC. A country of 200 million with a growing at 3.7%. While Brazil with almost same population growing at about 1%.

Fix your domestic issues and investors will be back.
