my dear neighbour....try to give your own Indians before trying to fix Afghanistan.
you are also admitting without americans in Afghanistan you wont be able to do jack
Regardless of past history, India has remained united like never before!
1. Separatist militancy in Punjab and North East has been put down.
2. The one in Kashmir doesn't make any difference.
3. Naxalite insurgency seems to be under control.
4. The 1991 economic crises were so successfully dealt with that India emerged stronger after the crises.
5. Democracy is functional.
6. Far from disintegrating or losing territory except in 1962, the institution of India has been becoming stronger and has in fact along the way, annexed one strategically significant Himalayan state of Sikkim.
These are not signs of a country that would disintegrate.
But wait. One option has not been tested yet. The option of using nuclear weapons has not been tried yet. Nuclear strike may provide the breakthrough against the resilience of India. Nuclear strike may be the game changer.
Who knows? Use of nuclear weapons may signal the end of India.
Unity of post-1947 India is no big deal. Post-1947, India's unity was probably because of modern technologies of communication and transportation. Communication technology included television, photography, telephone and print media etcetera. Transportation technology included railways, aero planes and ships. You have to thank West for this factor of technology. Take away this factor and it is doubtful if India would have survived even 10 years. But technological development is a double-edged sword. If Western technology created united India, the same factor – in the form of nuclear weapons and missiles – can also undo this creation. So the gist of the thread is nuclear weapons and missiles are the acid tests for the idea of India.
