well the problem is the pop. growth rate...inflation is also a problem. In terms of per capita GDP the numbers have climbed slightly.
most other countries would collapse if they dealth with the amount of lost FDI, terrorism and energy shortage. These are key factors that are hindering our development. The GDP is still growing, albeit much slower than it should be.
the leadership is also to blame. the resources and wealth is there, it's just not fully tapped.
i think poverty is a problem in the whole sub continent....we are all developing countries. Look at india which has over 650 million in dire poverty
