Wasn't Pakistan next to Japan until 2008 (Mushy's time) in GDP, advance culture, tech and all? I thought I noticed Maglev trains flying everywhere at 800 KM an hour speed.......

There are no presumptions on my end. I don't make any, if you follow my post, it is hard, cold truth. The audience of my post is such that they say the Military somehow brought all the investment and change in Pakistan. Not NS. Well, the military has ruled the place for 60 years, it couldn't develop a second water dam since the 70's. Where is all that growth? Do I need to wear a magic hat to see that Pakistan that never existed?

These are the same people, who, the other day called NS brother SS, and referred to his cancer and made such derogatory remarks that he's got cancer, he's a burden to the nation and he's a foot away from the grave and all. Therefore, the Silk Road initiative was always imperative for China's long term strategic goals, however the investment was only bound to flow at the correct moment of time. America leaving Afghanistan has created a vacuum in which China will want to fulfill this role economically and military through Pakistan, because the attraction of mineral contracts worth hundreds of billions of dollars for State Owned Enterprises is quite lucrative. Furthermore, the Uighur narrative will only shrink like in the case of Tibet, If economic development actually occurs in the region and Pakistan has the closest port available for exports. This is one of the main reasons why the Chinese intelligence has worked closely with the ISI to talk with the Taliban Shura Council. The military leadership under General Kiani and General Raheeel Sharif have played a pivotal role for this investment. I don't give a $hit what IK or other parties do or say. What is needed is reform inside pakistan. If he really wants to do something that lasts. These trade deals come and go. Leave that to the private sector, let them do business, they're better at it.

Javad Zarif the Foreign Minister of Iran made it categorically clear that Iran has no problem with Gwadar being built, because it would have positive effects on Sistan Province. If Iran seriously has contentions with Gwadar, then they would not have provided electricity to the city because its linked to the Iranian national grid. Some Afghan's are open with their hate towards Pakistan and this is largely because the ruling government is made-up of old Northern Alliance Warlords. Did you forget that the Pakistani Military controls the Taliban and they are effectively controlling vast amount of territories and they will come back into power, whether in a coalition or by force. Therefore Pakistan will always have influence in Afghanistan. The visit is not a bad thing. Thebfactvis that we need to have diplomatic relations with all the countries and should have economical ties with them. Our foreign policy is becoming more Asia centric and our focus has been on central Asian countries as well which is a very good thing. We need more allies and especially allies that are closer to us. Kazakhistan has uranium reserves but I will be surprised of nawaz succeeds in signing a uranium deal. Tli predict small time trade deals and economical pacts after which smoother relations will be made and we will be able to ask for better uraniumesque deals.

So a good visit and let's see what fruit it bears.

There is a reason when India presented in the Security Council, ONLY China voted against it and vetoed it. No other country or countries have the kind of relationship with Pakistan, which was needed to go and do a counter resolution. You can't grow trees, let along the economy, you can't be a "modern country" and doing trade with others, if you don't have ALLIES. And to make ALLIES, just like making friends on individual basis, you have to go visit them and find ways to work together.

Working TOGETHER that doesn't exist in Pakistanis and lacks all the way. IK is ONE example of not working together with a functional and producing government, in a country that's surrounded by serious challenges at this point in time.
