Rotax engine is produced in Austria, I know it already but the company who owned it is Canadian. Maybe because it is produced in Austria then the engine is still available for TB2 drone.

İt's true. Rotax currently a Canadian engine. But when we first flew Anka, we had a problem with another engine (Not Rotax) due to Austria. Thereupon, we immediately started to develop PD series motors first.

Today, when the Canadian embargo was imposed on both Rotax engines and Wescam EOTS systems, we started to use a lightened version of the PD series engines developed for Anka in TB2/3s. Also, Wescam EOTS was replaced with Aselsan CATS EOTS.

The new engine is heavier than the Rotax but more powerful. Therefore, the losses with increasing weight could be compensated by the increase in power.

CATS, on the other hand, is still not a Wescam, it's still a bit heavier. But Aselsan's new generation EOST systems are on their way. In that regard, there will be no performance difference between Wescam and CATS-2.

In fact, until a year or one and a half year ago, CATS was too bad to be used anywhere. It was heavy and especially bad at thermal imaging. When Canada, using the Karabakh war as an excuse, placed an embargo, President Tayyip Erdoğan asked about CATS. He was very angry with the response he got. Some heads were blown off in Aselsan!! :)

As a result of intense efforts, it was possible to approach Wescam EOTS standards, at least in thermal imaging. Even added a couple of features. For the weight, it turned out that a new design was needed despite all the lightening. For this reason, some people in Aselsan are working hard with some Far East companies on the new generation EOTS systems.

When we have Burraq, Shahpar-2, Wing Long-2 UCAVs then why TB-2?? What is offer better over easily available Chinese equivalent systems?
TB2, in conjuction with the Turkish EW systems, has made Kebap out of the Russian AD, armored, artillery etc. in multiple fronts. And, the Chinese drones failed in Libya compared to TB2s....

This Indian strategy is less and less effective. China and MENA countries will always sell to Pakistan and their military hardware is now world class. Even in Europe, India can not buy from every country especially if it wants to develop an indigenous defense industry that's relevant.

Pakistan is on track to resolve its repetitive BOP issues......means billions will be available for arms imports looking forward.
India is 3t$ wait till it gets 20t$ economy

As usuall pakistanis are understimating the clout of its foe like it did in 1971

It reap the consequences of it

Back then neither the americans nor the chinese came to pakistanis help

Its almost a given that europe will ban items to pakistan in 2040s and not impossible that china may follow suit if it settles basic issues with india

If India became a 20 Trillion economy......it would have far more to lose in any conflict with Pakistan so keep tensions to a minimum and this discussion becomes moot. Similar reason why S Korea doesn't provoke N. Korea.....it has too much to lose.

Thus thw only weapon systems we may still get are the ones u have IP to
I.e JV or home grown

Yes it wont go for conflict but will make pakistan toothless the same way taiwan is made toothless by china

Americans arent even ready to sell taiwan anything neither are french because china say so

India will utlimately grow to 20t$

Also dont understimate indian fanatism..

We thought th same in 1971
And
2019

In the end Pakistan must defend its own interests and develop its own arms.....its why we went nuclear. Hard to forecast the world in 2040 but the current Covid crisis has actually helped narrow the gap between India and Pakistan. Pakistan was braced for impact much more then India was. If India becomes a 20 trillion...odds are that Pakistan would also be a multi $trillion economy, IMO.

This is a war of attrition.

This is what Pakistani people need to understand, we should at all costs become a economically independent country with strong and stable macroeconomic fundamentals ( IMF etc has to go) and the only way to achieve that is to increase our exports remittances basically inflows and industrialization.

One cannot maintain credible deterrence forever in the face of economic imbalance with its foe. First the conventional deterrence will erode than they will come after the nuclear shield through economic coercion, sanctions etc. ( They don't need any reason any excuse will suffice, the groundwork is already being laid slowly through sponsored internal actors).

I am Punjabi myself but I can admit that the punjabis are useless and don't get me wrong India won't be even a chellenge but we gotta stragetic position ourselves even better because imo the Afghans will be that make weight that will break the Indians in the hour of struggle I have more faith in the Afghans then I do in Punjabis and Sindhis and coming from a Punjabi himself because most punjabis are oblivious to ground realities and live in a major bubble that is not real life whereas the Indians are simple people which is a curse and good at the same time because the Indians atleast aren't hypocrites you see what you get and his goalpost never changes which I actully like about them and admire easily predictable but the punjabis are unpredictable in a bad way that sometimes can jeopardize themselves.

By 2040 it doesn't better who we trade with or not hack we could only do trade here in this area alone would be enough because imo at that point the Afghans will have a better armed forces then Pakistan and will be the ones to deliver the final blow to the Indians not the Pakistanis all tho they will also fight in that war but they will be pushed back in the first go in Punjab and Sindhi because they are simply oblivious and half sleeping but the Afghans will do the Indians in on the counter attack and claim all of it
We can agree to disagree. I am from Lahore only miles from the Indian border. Local men in my area with rifles (Punjabi's also have a gun culture....although less then the Pathans) have long been prepared to back PA if needed. In 2019, armed civilians even rallied near the border to ignite passions. In addition to nukes, drones and other conventional weapons, Pakistan has a huge irregular force potential. Dwarfs anything seen Afghanistan or other parts of the ME to this date.

20 trillion ! what kind of shit you smoking, unless India excepts Chinese hegemony and gives up all its territorial claims and land, there is zero chance of settling "basic" issues.

The only retards that think endia will become a 20 trillion dollar economy are Indians, you sus in my eyes now.

The mindset is to fight from a position of strength until total annihilation of the enemy for once and for all. On a serious note though, the defense apparatus understands the changing threat matrix and will do whatever is necessary to counter that effectively.

The news is true. And Jummah Bazar continues. I really want to understand the mindset behind induct so many types of Armed Drones

The Afghans will be a complete world class armed forces by that time during the 2040s-2050s they will be able to move much quicklier plus daring offensive tactics that is above pakistan's level something like mixing the legendary crescent tactics with swarming tactics the Indians will just not be able to fight them with that kind of zeal and dedication imho they could make quick work out of India not even lasting more then 2 years before they reach all the way to Tamil Nadu to the complete surprise of everyone I am talking about a complete professional armed forces and technologically advanced

Well majority shareholders dictate the terms so nothing GE can do here. 51% is more than enough to enforce a decision. Also if there was an issue US would have blocked it before Turkey made TB2 sales to Ethiopia and Somalia bcz both countries are under US sanctions.

Micro munitions are entirely different story considering they are a home grown product.
TEI PD222 Single Turbo (max 240hp) is the newest engine of TEI used in tactical class UAVs and offering the best power-to-weight ratio in its class, with a dry weight of 163kg. This engine will also power the new generation Baykar tactical UAVs. In order for this engine to be backward compatible with existing UAVs, the same interface was used as the existing PD-170. There is interest in the engine from various parts of the world, and negotiations are continuing.

The PD-222 is a lightened and enhanced variant of the PD-170. The main design philosophy of the PD-170 was the goal of maximum performance at high altitude and best-in-class fuel economy. The PD-222 is an engine focused on take-off power. The next step in this class will be the 180hp engine, which will be the lowest weight member of this series. In a very rough calculation, every 10kg of lightening achieved in the engine increases the useful load capacity of the vehicles by 20kg.

Q: How does GE view these piston aviation engines as a 46% shareholder of the company?
"As GE's corporate policy, it often prioritizes large passenger aircraft and fighter jet engines, which require much greater technology. GE does not have any engine in UAV class engines. We, as TEI, tell them that we can complete their UAV engine ranges together. This is being evaluated, they don't have any engines in this class yet."

I love the positivity being spread by the Pakistanis in this thread, just love it, and typical.

Pakistan is being compared to North Korea, a dead beat country.
compared to Taiwan, a territory 60 times smaller then it's adversary, and with no relations with other countries.

And, glory be to lord a $20 trillion dollars Indian economy, I assume the assumption being that Pakistan will be the same size as it is now.
Well done, keep up the good work, Pakistan doesn't need anyone else, when it's own people find silly excuses to put it down.

In case everyone has forgotten Pakistan is the 5th largest country in the world,
on target to have a population of 400 million.
Indian economy has always been 8-10 times larger then Pakistan's economy, ever since both countries gained independence, so exactly has or will change?

It is extremely unfair to bestow the destiny of development to others, and assume Pakistan will be standing still.
Pakistan has developed a lot in the last 70 years, despite more challenging circumstances.
It shall continue to develop in the future, especially since the circumstances appear a lot more favourable then they were in history.

Less doom and gloom, that's all guys, please less doom and gloom
