What's new

Pakistan one of the least racist countries? Tell that to the Pakhtuns

Haji Adeel is also a Hindkowan.

The Karachiites like @pak-marine would be surprised to find that about half of the Pashto speakers in KPK are not racially Pashtuns but are of Indian extraction. The skilled workers and artisans from Hindustan were allowed to settle as vassals or clients by Pashtun conquerors on their lands (Pakhtun tribes conquered and settled in KPK between times of Ghaznavi and Mughal king Akbar)
Idk what you mean by 'Indian' extraction, whatever that means but the majority of those are native to sarhad, not settlers, its the pashtuns who migrated from their homeland of Suleiman mountains to sarhad

Definitely racism exists everywhere, but relative to other countries I think Pakistan is ok. Just look at US, over there black-white tensions continue to this day. While we have stereotypes, there is no Punjabi-Pathan tension. In many cities bothe ethnic groups live and interact on a daily basis without problems. I however cannot speak for Karachi as I do not live there, but was told that in the 90s there was tensions between Mohajirs and others. I don't think that it exists today but I could be wrong.

its same in Karachi, dont go by the 90's conflicts it was more of a political fighting than ethnic fighting. I am punjabi born and grew up in Karachi, lived few places and always had quite a few Punjabis on every street I lived. Just like we at our house referred to our neighbours as "mohajir, or bihari or hyderabadi" since no ones knows everyone's name. urdu speaker sometime referred to us as "yar wo jo punjabion ke baraber wala ghar hay". we always lived well together and everyone was very neighborly, even at the height of MQM ghunda gerdy. Everyone I know is Mohajir i hardly know any punjabi other than my family.

Now my father's village in Talagang, haven been there in 20 years but heard a lot of Pushto speakers are moving in there recently. those small town and villages where people notice strangers and resist against them because of small size of local populations. Those Pushtunes started buying land and then all villagers got together and decided that no one will sell their land to anyone other than the locals. But this is not recism its just protecting local culture.

:) then why even after 60 years most of the bhayas are like "hum to Indian hain hum acha khana pakatay hain" bhaya agar Indian ho to Pakistan ko chosna band karo.

As far as Afghanistan is concerned she is NOT my country , they can go eat themselves not my headache .
Are you stupid or are you stupid? This is the kind of shit Indians with fake IDs on facebook say pretending to be muhajir or baloch or something

That's a bull shit. The fact is that we Pakistanis ourselves not ready to accept any good report. We ourselves just love to malign image on our own.
First of all, there is no country on earth where ethnic differences does not exist. Not only that, huge riots take place on basis of ethnic differences as well as religious. Pakistan is also one of them. However in Pakistan, educated class still shows some tolerance to other ethnics.
Regarding to Pakhtoons, they might be mishandled by our civil regime in past decades but that doesn't mean they hate them or are extremely intolerant towards them.As far as jokes are concerned, well they are also thrown at memons ,highlighting their obsession with money.
My own lecturer cracked joke at Urdu speaking people, saying that "in ka koi deen iman nhi hota" and we were laughing because we knew context of his example:D
The writer simply wanted to earn some brownies. He knows that if he will write some spicy article than he will be getting good rating.
I admit, Indians are far better than us,at least they are capable to measure intensity of their problems ,no matter what happens inside India, she appears outstanding from outside, just bravo, hats off to them for being smarter.

Punjabi racists against pakhtoons.. Lol was that a joke or something?

If you mean Afghani pakhton or farsiban then yes. We have to be. But case of Pakistani pathans, please whole Punjab is filled with Pathans. Lahore, Rawalpindi, faisalabad, jehlum, talakand.. Everywhere Pathans are spread and in Punjab they are same as any other.

People probably call me biased but Punjabi's are the only people who accept all. Yet get blame for nothing. But if u are Punjabi and living in non Punjabi area, you have to face these shity words, dall khorr, rojakhor, Punjabi, etc.. I groomed while listening such stupid words, but I wouldn't blame them, they call themselves also with such discrimination. And it taught me some good lessons.

Totally BS article written by some burger boy educated in some politically correct university in the West.

Pathans are everywhere in Pakistan. And like others, they have rich, poor, educated, uneducated people. Due to my work, I interact with labours, masons everyday. And Pathan labours speak Punjabi with a Pothowari dialect here. I haven't seen any racism here.

Attock is hinko speaking but Murre is part of Rawalpindi district even if they speak hinko. Mianwali is also hinko speaking. There is thin line between seraiki and hinko, and Mianwali seem to be hinko.

Any PML Q is in favor of more provinces, not only in KPK but also punjab. Only big parties like N are against it. Q hardly matter now days, they need more provinces and then they may come in to picture.

A good 70% of Attock people according to my estimate speak Chakwal style, hindko influenced Potohari. The dialects have their own names like Ghebi, Awankari etc. The variants of Potohari spoken throughout the salt-range are more or less the same, whether you are in Attock or Chakwal. Saying that Attock-walas speak hindko is incorrect.

I always wonder why everytime Urdu-speakers are being dragged whenever there is a dicussion on Pakhtuns :cuckoo:

Again a thread is on the verge of becoming a battleground between various ethnicities. No wonder in the past ethnic discussions were banned on this site. No one discusses their ethnic identity critically or objectively. Instead the focus is on proving the other more racist than "us", us being the ethnic group we belong to.

All the Pashtuns and Punjabis arguing here are not good Pakistanis. Also I notice long ago that Punjabis were less racist than others. Them blaming pashtuns proves this untrue.

By the way as a Karachite I have noticed such racism for pashtuns including at work and at other places. If anyone has noticed we muhajirs are extremely racist towards others but this does not mean that others are not like us. We need to work to make ethnic identity inconsequential. Look at India even. 15% of their armed forces are made up of Punjabis when their total Punjabi populace is less than 2%. So they have eliminated racism in their country so why can't we?
