Pakistan officially inducts HQ 9 Air Defence system

.
Keep to topic please, if you wan to discuss politics there is a section for it.

Of course they are, they were dreaming of strike formations carrying out their surgical strikes, that's now off the table. The worst part for them is that there is more to come.

Notice how Western and Indian media haven't reported.

.
Do you realize that Gawadar, Karachi and our whole Naval airspace is being protected by these squads based out of Karachi and Bolari?
Karachi has 2 Airbases , Gwadar is protected by Pasni Airbase , Hyedrabad has Bholari , and there is also a foward airbase PAF Talhar for Badin area , and the PN has a airbase for MPA's and drones at Turbat

. . . .
Unfortunately it is HQ-9 or HQ-9A not B,base on your pic 1.

Can we seriously catalogue missile systems based just upon the shapes of different stowage boxes/fuel tank, which probably contains toolkit to repair truck, or cooking utensils etc? There number of axles, wheelbase and trailer size looks like somewhat same.

Does it have any correlation between missiles range, guidance systems, or radar's configuration??

Any kind of HQ-9 is a big leap forward in our air defence capabilities but I hope we got a better variant or at least the lower variant used refurbished at a dirt cheap price from the Chinese.

No correlation, your correct. but they’re trying to identify the base vehicle i suppose, the thing HQ-9P may be based off. Though I say it’s fruitless, since toolboxes and ventilation units aren’t good indicators of much. The system is as good as PA needs it to be, that’s about the end of it.

.
Another confusion is that even if Army had to buy older models why would they change its designation to HQ-9P?? There has to be some meaningful modifications incorporated into the system to designate as a "P" variant. On papers at least, current export version is superior than older HQ-9s.

Our secretive tight lipped military wouldn't even share the pamphlet info of this system unless someone close to them breaks the silence.

And Pakistan military is habitual of configuring their own unique concoction of a version of Chinese weaponry every time. Rarely seen them inducting Chinese system right off the shelf. And that's a unique leverage our forces have over Chinese equipment. So we may keep guessing them for better part of the decade.

The coverage extends from 90%pk for targets within 100km and altitudes of 50k+ - then it reduces from there until it hits the border and then some.
Based out of Karachi isnt indicative of being in Karachi. Technically 3 airbases and 7 major facilities can be covered by this if deployed at the right spot down south.

Indian aircraft looking to avoid it will focus on stand off and try to go around the sea but then they will still face it(in another form) so the next step will be to try and fire volleys upon volleys of KH-31s or Rudrams at it and throw Harpys at it. That is where the loss of the pantsir will be felt so another system is necessary that can act as a CIWS for the hq9.
The approaches that the IAF enjoyed avoiding Pakistani IADS through AAR and the MKI down south are now all but gone anyway. The only avenue remains sneaking through the mountains up north but even the approach to those is now covered. They fly low they face LOMADS, they fly high they face the HQ9 and the PL-15.

In a way, limited warfare and surgical strikes are going to disappear to options of greater force commitment and therefore escalation which they don’t necessarily want yet either.

Peace is secured - at least from overt means. Economically, politically and covertly through media and hybrid war India is landing blows upon blows.
Similarly, if we consider its range to be ≈150km then another node where a single battery can be deployed to strategic effects is between Jhelum and Dina. This way PAAD will be able to provide AD to;
- Major population and C&Ccenters Islamabad and Rawalpindi (GHQ, 10Corps HQs etc).
- Major industrial and population center of Gujrat, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Jhelum, Mirpur, Kotli, Bhimbher.
- Formation HQs such as 1Corps HQs(kharian/Mangla), 23 Div(Jhelum), 12 Div(Murree), 6th armd div(Gujranwala), 30 Corps (Gujranwala) etc
- To bridges over Chenab and Jhelum which are of strategic importance as well as Mangla and Tarbela dams and Headworks.
- HIT, PAC, POF Wah which are extremely necessary for our war sustainence.
- Protection of Northern flank of Sargodha AB.
- AD coverage over some regions of IOK such as Rajouri, Poonch etc.

Fortunately all our procurements are in accordance with our doctrine i.e we are becoming more aggressive and improving our offense by gradually and simultaneously strengthening our defence.

Very important purchase. Really happy to see this induction but after HQ16 , everyone was expecting it as next logical buy. Ideally we need 6 to 7 regiments to cover entire Pakistan and I am guessing by 2023 , we will end up achieving this goal. SAMs may not be that effective against incoming missiles but definitely a serious threat for fighter jets and drones. It will ease up PAF some of the routine operations as well.

Ex PAF chief talked about new air defense for PAF by the end of this year which now I believe was this one. Though earlier, it was thought to be under paf command but may be later it was decided that integrated ADS under new command for the country headed by army chief will be better option.
Karachi has a sea port and Lahore can never have that strategic importance hence in case of war, army can even sacrifice Lahore for saving Karachi if they left with no option. Simple as that whether pdf Lahoris like it or not.

Iranian SAMs have been blasted to pieces by the Israeli/US airforce since the last decade in Syria/Iraq. When did Iran ever shoot down even 1 US/Israeli jet in the last 4 decades? dont fool yourself

Iranian airforce is obsolete with almost no BVR capable aircraft, except for the dozen F14 tomcats that still have to rely on 60s era Phoenix missiles :D

Iran has invested heavily in SAMS no doubt, but they have yet to be capable so far as to shoot a harmless drone down... Pakistan still relies mostly on its Fighter jets compared to its SAM systems. Even with the introduction of HQ9 batteries full focus will remain the PAF.

At the end of the day fighter jets have far too many hands up their sleaves against SAM systems. If SAMs were so effective then why do major powers still invest in their fighter jets? Everyone should follow the Irani model and just build SAMS with almost no airforce:D
the answer to your questions are in Iranian forum link is blow we can provide you all the evidence you need ( video and pictures ) but not here its against the roles to go off topic in another thread

Brother we are not living in the 70's era and don't be pessimistic never thought a statement coming from you like that. We will defend every inch of our land and there is more chance of India disappearing if things came to that stage. India is just an elephant can be brought down to the ground just breaking one leg, have confidence in yourself and Iman. We have got differences but when push come to shove united Pakistani's are not born to get defeated.
