Pakistani Foreign Minister Khawaja Mohammad Asif said Pakistan, Turkey and Azerbaijan could set up a joint military industry complex to boost cooperation among the three countries in defense products.

This came at a joint press conference held on Thursday, the Pakistani Foreign Minister and his Turkish counterpart Mouloud Josh ogluwali, Elmar Mammadyarov, gathered after a tripartite gathering in the Azerbaijani capital Baku.

For his part, the Azeri minister stressed that Azerbaijan, Pakistan and Turkey are closely cooperating in the defense industry in a bilateral manner, stressing the need for a tripartite form of cooperation in this field.

"We can set up joint projects to produce defense products and develop cooperation in this field in a trilateral manner," he said. He pointed out that his country plans to buy training aircraft from Pakistan and that they agreed to a joint statement during the meeting will form a roadmap for mechanisms of triangular cooperation between Turkey and Azerbaijan and Pakistan, he said.

For his part, the Turkish minister said that the three countries have the potential to strengthen cooperation in the field of defense industries. "We are not competing with each other in this field, but we are complementing each other," said Chaouisch oglu.

The key to self reliance, is to help each other like brothers do. Three of us start it and we will see more friends joining in. True that all of parties can offer something to each other 8n respective domain and help build each other further as there will be no such clause as sanctions etc. Way to go.

Talking without thinking, he got nothing to loose.
I'm sure Khawaja Asif have no idea of what he's talking about.

Each of this country have many things to offer to other so cooperation between them going to successful.

Pakistan or Pakistanis were never close to Arabs as they were to Turks especially historically.
It's just the Americans and British trying to control the Muslim world through their puppets in Arab nations is what led to Pakistan being far too close to Arabs. But at least we used to have a greater influence on Arabs back in the days and we used to call the shots.
Looks like we are getting back there now with the whole Gen. Raheel ordeal.

But a simple fact is Pakistan, Turkey, Iran, and Azeris. These are fighter nations. Same can't be true about modern Arabs as opposed to the Arabs of the old.

This is an amazing idea actually, an encouraging development. Each party would have the opportunity to benefit from each others expertise in their respective areas. Great idea if put in motion all parties can be beneficiary.

Put into perspective the ECO, do it under the ECO's label (Minus Iran and Afghanistan at present) let them join later.

With the Five Central Asian States, Four of which are of Turkic origin we can not only pool resources and introduce interoperatability like the NATO does but also benefit from economies of scale.
The best thing about interoperatability would be that if one country needs urgent equipment in case of a war the other's can provide from their inventory to fulfill their brother's urgent requirements.
And when Iran has found a way out of the Economic Sanctions and Afghanistan out of American and Indian influence, we can absorb them into the net too, just as NATO did with Warsaw pact nations.
