Pakistan neglecting education of its people

The OP is about Pakistan...Half of the Pakistanis take metric and not O-levels so measuring using O-levels is very biased

The first post in the form of reply/rebuttal came from you in the following:

That is to happen when you have people who gain votes from illiterate people hence it is beneficial for them to have an illiterate population!

It is not about measuring or any bias involved therein...
Its your logic of votes/politics which you deem responsible for such rout in education.
And since your logic of votes/politics was missing in the case of UK, I appropriately asked you, why such difference...

Is it hard to chew?

.
Any statistics?
Many
Crime Stats:

Source 1:
Muslims, who make up roughly 5% of the British population as a whole, now make up 13% of the British prison population (compared to just 6% in 1997).
Britain: Muslim Prison Population Up 200%

Source 2:
In London, the figure is an “astonishing” 27 per cent, which is more than double the 12 per cent of the capital’s population who are Muslim.
Calls for inquiry as figures show 27% of London's prisoners are Muslim - UK - News - London Evening Standard

Poverty:

Example 1
:
Pakistani 55%
Indian 25%
White British 20%

Example 2:
40 per cent of Pakistani students in secondary schools are eligible for free school meals, compared to a national average of 15 per cent

Example 3:
A study by Joseph Rowntree Foundation in 2007 found that Pakistani Britons have the second highest relative poverty rates in Britain, ahead only of Bangladeshis

Similarly British Pakistanis have high unemployement, higher probability of taking social welfare, and are the second lowest in having Working women.

Yes esp when GCSE is not the only measure in UK...I took GCE where do I fit in? My friend in Medical school too IGCSE where is she on the chart?

Look at the overall picture, and find out, and then, give me a simple reason.
Why even in GCSE, BD tops Pakistan - any answer?

By your logic, the author aka Former ambassador to the US, a Pakistani woman, must have hatred too for Pakistan!

What a logic boy!

no you dumb indian, your post was liked by me, but then you started barking, thats where the hatred lied... its you who is dying in hatred of your own... not us...

Dear God...Talk about hatred of a new level!

The problems of poverty are exacerbated by racism on the streets (British Pakistani and Bangladeshi people are far more likely to be targeted in racist attacks and abuse than any other community) and by pervasive anti-Muslim hostility in the media.

You forgot to quote this bit:

A new word for an old fear
the features of Islamophobia
– Verbal and physical attacks on Muslims in public places
– Attacks on mosques and desecration of Muslim cemeteries
– Widespread and routine negative stereotypes in the media, including the broadsheets, and in the conversations and
‘common sense’ of non-Muslims – people talk and write about Muslims in ways that would not be acceptable if the reference were to Jewish people, for example, or to black people
Discrimination in recruitment and employment practices, and in workplace cultures and customs
Bureaucratic delay and inertia in responding to Muslim requests for cultural sensitivity in education and healthcare and in planning applications for mosques
Lack of attention to the fact that Muslims in Britain are disproportionately affected by poverty and social exclusion
– Non-recognition of Muslims in particular, and of religion in general, by the law of the land, since up until recently discrimination in employment on grounds of religion has been lawful and discrimination in the provision of services is still lawful
– Anomalies in public order legislation, such that Muslims are less protected against incitement to hatred than members of certain other religions
– Laws curtailing civil liberties that disproportionately affect Muslims.

action, Trentham Books, 2004

Same source you gave: http://www.insted.co.uk/raising2005.pdf

I am surprised you failed to mention all these cutbacks Muslims face and despite that Muslims are still going on...amazing accomplishment! What's the problem with Indians and the 25% shouldnt it be 0% since they dont face all these? What about British White?

I dont know go ask them! I am not going to answer for each but you have to answer for yourself why choose only GCSE and not all the options available?!

40% of Muslims in UK are Pakistani. Stands to reason that Pakistanis are far above Indians and other Britishers in crime.

Sure. I dont care. It also mentions that most British Pakistanis are employed in low wage jobs like driving cabs.

At the end of the day all stats from all sources and covering multiple dimensions from crime, poverty, education, employement make it amply clear that British Pakistanis are amongst the lesser educated, lesser earning, lesser productive members of British society who have a higher probability of taking social benefits and indulge in crime.

Since I dont live in UK, it does not affect me. But you can bet it does to the people giving visas and making immigration policy to limit giving visas to new Pakistanis.

EDIT: On further reading I understand that British Pakistanis have been pulling up their socks now and are steadily improving across all indicators. Kudos to them for recognizing the problem and improving their lot

Love the way you derive your conclusions from your own mind...while fighting anyone who doesnt give you sources were the tables turned  @waz this is your friend's real face...

low wage jobs like driving cabs
I dont see that in the article at all...Might have missed it ...do you mind quoting the exact words and the page number, please?

sigh!

Discrimination in recruitment and employment practices, and in workplace cultures and customs

discrimination in employment on grounds of religion has been lawful
Sure the above has nothing to do with it!

yet you are dying to prove something...even skimmed through a 98 page report?! :woot: Sure you dont care nor does it effect you!

Sources are pretty clear. UK data.

Sure. I never talk without facts and sources at hand.
Research by the Office for National Statistics shows that British Pakistanis are far more likely to be self-employed than any other ethnic group. Pakistani men are most likely to work in the transport and logistics industry, most as cab drivers and taxi drivers

Just posted in my last post:

On further reading I understand that there is change afoot in the British Pakistani community. British Pakistanis have been pulling up their socks now and are steadily improving across all indicators. Kudos to them for recognizing the problem and improving their lot
Off topic: Waz is quite simply one of the most exceptional Pakistanis I have interacted with. I have learned much from him.

Whilst the 2001 Census showed British Pakistanis as having amongst the highest relative poverty rates in Britain, big progress has been made in recent years, so much that the 2011 Census showed British Pakistanis as now having amongst the highest levels of home ownership in Britain.

There are cultural reasons for the lack of education in Pakistan. There are a lot of tribal communities in Pakistan
who are not interested in education or hard work.

.
Pakistani's are amongst the least achieving communities in UK. That much is known from a variety of data in UK, from education statistics to employement to criminal statistics.

Surprisingly that is not the case in Nordic countries.

why is your barometer stuck on UK, All UK have is mostly uneducated Pakistani who settled there on the basis of British army service after WW or on Common wealth benefits. mostly who went there were uneducated and started small family businesses and needed entire family to work on their business hence no education for kids. expand your horizon a bit, UK is history and totally irrelevant in the world.

On that I agree.
Pakistanis in Nordic countries have been exceptional. They are well regarded, they are well integrated, they are all high wage earners, high educational attainment.
Probably one of the best examples for Pakistanis globally.

.
So what are we trying to prove here. When someone agreed that it's the lack of focus from GoP that has lead to the situation the Indians started to push that something is intrinsically wrong with Pakistani people? Bunch of retard bigot members we have from our east.

If we are such a lost case and failure just GTFO of Pakistani Defence forum. What makes you obsessed to make your case here if we are an insignificant and incapable bunch.

Paranoia much?

I specifically stated that Nordic Pakistanis are an example of perfect immigration. High wage, high employement, high education.
Even that British Pakistanis have been improving their community with steady improvement across all indicators.
