@third eye. The electorate of the urban areas to some extent understand that the status quo ain't working bcuz they are educated and aware but in the rural areas the situation is opposite. The elite and jagirdars control everything esp in South punjab, sind and balochistan. Poor people without education are forced to vote for these parasites otherwise they will make their miserable lives even more miserable. that's the reality. 60 % or more votes are in the rural areas. why do you think these people are against the census bcuz the people who are fed up are moving to the urban areas and therefore they will lose their power.

It will take time @fatman17 . The error made in late 40's & early 50's of not doing away with the Zamindari system needs to be undone. Perhaps someday it it may go away provided of course there is the will.

Politically, Pak is somewhere close to where India was in the 50's & 60's - One / few National Party towering above the rest , no regional parties of repute who win seats in substantial numbers .

Revolution is an interesting thing. The people striving for fairness, social justice and equality of opportunity start the revolution movement. The revolution is nurtured by the blood of common men but eventually the benefits are harvested by again the elements which end up accumulating the power to themselves. Iranian, the Chinese, The Russians, a similar story echos everywhere. One kind of dictators giving way to another kind of dictators
