Pakistan National Assembly rejects Bill to allow non-Muslims to become country’s President, PM

.
Muslims countries like Pakistan should stop complaining about Islamaphobia if they insist on treating non-Muslims as second-class citizens.

And India should stop complaining about terrorism when they have a piece of cowardly $hit leader who praised rapists and murderers.

You are comparing apples to oranges. Whatever Modi's faults or India's shortcomings, there's no language in its constitution that says non-Hindus cannot be PM or President while Pakistan's constitution does.

Which is fine. Pakistan has the right to do what it wants. It just seems odd -- and hypocritical -- to complain about discrimination of Muslims in the West and elsewhere while practicing it at home.

You cant get high government positions in Canada if you cant speak French. This is a form of discrimination but no one hears about this eh? Also Pakistan is not a secular state like the so called secular states of European and north America. So atleast it dorsnt hide behind a false image and propaganda. Quebec passed a law thats against the so called secular constitution of Canada, did anyone hear about that?

These media outlets are paid criminals that will speak against anyone that they get paid for.

While Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan claims that his government does not discriminate against the minority community, a recent decision by the country’s National Assembly has exposed its hypocrisy.

The National Assembly has rejected a Bill that sought to allow a non-Muslim to become the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Naveed Aamir Jeeva, a lawmaker and a Christian belonging to the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) introduced the bill in the National Assembly, The News International reported.

However, the bill was blocked by the National Assembly, with majority voice on Tuesday.

The lawmaker proposed an amendment to Article 41 and Article 91 of the Constitution to allow non-Muslims to become Prime Minister and President of Pakistan.

In Pakistan, only a Muslim can be elevated to the posts of President and Prime Minister.

According to Article 91 of the Pakistani Constitution, the National Assembly is empowered to elect one of its Muslim members to be the Prime Minister. Similarly, Article 41 of the country’s Constitution says that a person shall not be qualified for election as President unless he is a Muslim.

Pakistan PM has times and again said that the minorities in his country are enjoying complete freedom, security, and their rights are being protected.

Rejected by majority vote. Case closed.

He is saying that he is a liberal and reason is not going to work with him.
Yet in India Muslims and Christians can become presidents and prime minsters. Abdul Kalam is a good example. Christians have many times became defense ministers

Look who's talking? Worlds biggest racist anti-minority lot actively engaged in massacre of minorities.

If Zardari can be President, then why can't a Sikh or Christian or a Hindu?

.
Firstly, this state was not created to satisfy emotions of Kufaar. This state was created for Muslims, and for the implementation of Shariah. The constitution of Islamic republic of Pakistan states in it's preamble that:

"Whereas sovereignty over the entire Universe belongs to Almighty Allah alone, and the authority to be exercised by the people of Pakistan within the limits prescribed by Him is a sacred trust"

People are not considered sovereign in this constitution and they can not form laws which are repugnant to Quran and Sunnah. Quran clearly mentions the duties of a ruler:

(These men of truth) are those who, if We establish their rule in the earth, will establish (systems of) Prayer, (organize and control) the paying of Zakat, enjoin righteousness and forbid (people from) evil. And the result of all the endeavours is in the control of Allah. Al Hajj 41

Obviously, a Hindu, Sikh, Christian can not perform these duties which are required from a ruler, according to Quran. Therefore, they can not rule an Islamic state.

The constitution of Islamic republic of Pakistan further states that:

"Wherein the principles of democracy, freedom, equality, tolerance and social justice, as enunciated by Islam, shall be fully observed"

"Wherein the Muslims shall be enabled to order their lives in the individual and collective spheres in accordance with the teachings and requirements of Islam as set out in the Holy Quran and Sunnah"

Secondly, the Non Muslims are citizens of Pakistan. Their basic human rights should be protected and are protected under the constitution. They should be allowed to practice their religious duties. However, the Shariah doesn't give them the right of legislation. Their fundamental rights will be protected but they will not be allowed to impose their values on Muslims.

Thank you the only poster who actually uses evidence from our constitution and its guide the Qur'an.

Wil Americans let a similar bill pass in congress??
Neocon, WASP, Jews and other Zionist zealots and their militias will burn down Washington DC

.
And India should stop complaining about terrorism when they have a piece of cowardly $hit leader who praised rapists and murderers.
Then...lets not complain about each other and mind our own business...

.
Good job.
Non Muslims must be a legal minority and our roots of being Islamic Republic must be preserved.

.
in u.s and europe no Muslim is allowed to become their p.m or president so this is good move as every country has right to preserve its values and culture

.
Why do people even bring these kinds of bills forward?

They think a non-Muslim is a good candidate to lead Muslims to success both in this world and the next?
The chance of a non-Muslim even winning that election is so low that it makes you wonder again whats the point of this bill?

There is no honour in changing your own laws to please others. We do not exist to please the international community. And in any case, noone respects someone who sells out their beliefs and principles for cheap PR.

The guy on the first page made a good point about Zardari regardless of whether people like it or not. Groups who hate the Sahaba are not fit to be rulers either. I don't really care if this gets some hate but any Muslim with an ounce of principle or respect for great men like Umar (ra) & Abu Bakr (ra), would understand why.

in u.s and europe no Muslim is allowed to become their p.m or president so this is good move as every country has right to preserve its values and culture

Pretty much bro. Any Muslim wanting to reach the top of the political ladder here has to publicly sell out their faith.
