Pakistan Mulls NATO Offer to Ship Afghan Supplies Through Gwadar Port

China will agree with it. And indeed I would bet few Yuans that China might even be pushing for it. The reasons are simple. Everybody knows blocking US logistics and ATT will be short term. Nobody in their right minds expects that Pakistan will block US/ATT supply permanently. Not sure if even China would agree with that or support such a policy. The Chinese are 100 times stronger then Pakistan but their approach with US is deft and moving forward with extreme care. It is not brutalistic. Besides Pak political and military leadership has been bought out by Saudi's. And Saudi's are US poodles. Theefore I can't see Pak leadership crapping on two tiers of overlordship anytime soon. Posturing yes. Real substance no.

However the reason this is great idea is it offers benefits on many vital fronts. First if NATO/ATT use Gwadar it will give it a starting boost which will help to bring in extra business. The port will begin to flourish with NATO/ATT providing the required boost. This would then be great international exposure to Gwadar as a functioning post. In addition it would reduce dependance on Karachi/Port Qasim which MQM uses to raise funding from the "toll" it extracts from containers. So this is win win for all.

@Chinese-Dragon
But what are the downsides?

As soon as we give them access to Gwadar Port, we will see BLA and BRA with NATO and American Standard Automatic Rifles ..
This is what I am worried about.

@Kaptaan

One thing is becoming clear. There are many more cons associated with giving US/NATO access to Gwadar. I read some of the comments and the concern is justified. We got to to keep US/NATO out of Gwadar and Baluchistan.

Any greedy bar-steward who agrees to this deserves to be hung.

1. It's in our best interests that we have as little contact with America as possible.
2. It's in our best interests that America loses the war in Afghanistan
3. If we give them access to Gwadar, they will use it as an opportunity to get their proxies weapons in the region easier and wage war.

These people are poison, stay away.

@Chinese-Dragon
and what if their full containers went missing like they went missing in karachi..

NATA supply must be closed permanently , they have no business in other countries , we must not support them.
Their objectives and targets are not clear its useless risky path.

But question arises why do they want Gwadar?
Because Chabbar is in Iran and Operated by India, Both countries have self-respect and will never allow passage from there. So the option left is Pakistan, who will let them transport even if another trump tweet happens, another salala happens, another abbotabad happens

Say thanks to Iran that own the port and wouldn't allow US to pass by. Rest about your claim of India, then read LEMOA for which, you are bound to abide by.

Can't help with expected burns that you can dance upon mentioning those events like a street matter to be settled. Being unaware of the matter, doesn't mean to make sweeping remarks to prove otherwise.

Do not destroy all weather friendship with China. Please ask their permission. Now days they trade war.

Perfect! Pakistan should allow the NATO transit through gwadar. India will support this 200%. Listen to some of your senior pdfers who support this idea blindly. The pieces have begun falling in place. :yahoo::woot:

News from an anti-Pakistan rumor-mongering site. If PDF is really, truly a Pakistan defence forum it should ban anti-Pakistan sites like voanews and a few more.

Pakistan still has some friends left in NATO and specifically in Pentagon (and an equal or slightly less number of haters in US Congress).

It's not 1946 we don't take orders from white boys anymore. America is nobodies friend, especially ours.
