I don't get it. Seriously. Why you guys are so shy of owning your birth civilization which is Ganges River civilization. Ganges River is central to Hindu belief and that is why people take dip and float their Ashes in it. Why try to steal another civilization? Just because it is a bit older?

LOL - how difficult is it to grasp that the Indus Valley, Saraswati Valley, Ganga Valley, Brahmaputra Valley - all of these are collectively part of the Vedic Civilization - which extends from present day Iran - the start of the Persian Civilization to present day Cambodia - the start of the Khmer Civilization. And whether you like it or not - the Indus originates in Mansarovar and a sizable chunk of the settlements along the Indus happen to be in India?

Now if East and West Pakistan were still one - would you claim that the Indus Valley Civilization belongs to those living in Dacca more than those living in Surat? That is just plain ridiculous.

This is a circular argument.

I have had lots of discussion with Indians over this. From the dumb ones who say "Yeh they were Hindu". To the stupid who say "Yeh there was no Pakistan. To the very, very bright and highly educated Indian's who weave incredible and inventive tale but the bottom line is same, Copyright theft and desperate attempt to cover up their lands primitive jungle hunter gatherer ancestors by claiming our land - Indus basin as their forefathers.

Never buy into that rubbish "Pakistan came into being in 1947". Pakistan is a label. Just a name. History is of people. I know before 1947 my grandad was alive and I am sure yours was as well. We did not drop from the sky in 1947 or get teleported from Mars. Your father, his father going back to distant times have a connect with that land irrespective of what name you give. If I change my name today that does not mean I never existed before today or that I never had a childhood etc.

purely from what i saw on tv, i was disgusted with the wagah border "ceremony" with all its aggressively postured feet-banging soldiers and nationalist spectators... are those watching crowds any better than the blood-lust watchers of roman gladiatorial contests??

i read that the bsf soldiers on the indian side involved in that "face off" at the gate develop bone problems in the legs from all that violent stamping on the tarmac... similar must be on the pakistani side... disgusting !! tragic !!

sir, there is nothing called absolute in this world..... (god forbid) if tomorrow sindh or baloch breaks away from pakistan... then they will say IVC belongs exclusively to balochistan or sindhudesh etc and pakistan has no claim on it....!!!

By confining an IVC culture to present day Pakistan, you are the one in delusion. Rig veda mentions about the migration of people from north west frontier, so I would assume that IVC predates rig veda period. Now the question is people who wrote the rig veda, are they the same people who migrated from these places?? Our contention is that we are the same people.

How do know that their was little or no spillover into India? You have already mentioned Punjab but their are lots of urdu speaking pashtuns in India. I don't know much about Baloch but their are lots of Sindhis who migrated during partition.

It's a little more complex than that. Ask Bang Galore.
