Seems that they might be for the Navy MPA program. When PN issued the tender for mid range MPA, it stated that it should be based on aircraft currently used by Pakistan military or national airlines, which limited to option to CN 235s or ATR 42s

The initial order was for seven CASA/IPTN CN-235, however, because of some issues relating to the political situation in Indonesia and almost bankruptcy of IPTN, the order was reduced to four aircraft.

After the delayed delivery and initial grounding of the CN-235-220, PAF has been very impressed by this versatile logistic aircraft. PAF wishes to order more of these aircrafts.

Few months ago PN CNS did mention that they are looking at CN-235 and some other platforms to replace Atlantics and in the near future F-27s.

MSA has already taken delivery of one F-27 (not sure where it actually came from) and more than likely in the future PN F-27 will be transferred to MSA Aviation Wing.

Not sure which branch but one of them is looking at CN-295.

Although CN-235 is a nice aircraft but the reality is that we need a plane like CN-295 which is best suited for all the roles.
Like PAF should have placed an order for 11 CN-295 for transport purpose:

we don't need these aircrafts in large numbers.
they mostly used by special forces and air force pilot training (parachuting, etc) and to transport small equipment.
C-130 fills all the gap.

No , originally 7 aircrafts were ordered all for PAF but due to politicial issues and bankruptcy of the manufacturer the orders were reduced to 4 , for navy it was never ordered but was under consideration as a replacement for fokker-27 and berquet , PAF is also interested to buy more of these aircrafts so we may see orders for both PAF as well as PN

The MPA version of this aircraft has 6 hardpoints to carry Anti ship missiles while the overall length has increased by 1 meter that probably is because of the re-designed nose

.
hold your horses. a visit by a top brass dosnt always result in orders. the PN needs to replace the lost P3C and the CN235 MSA/MPA platform is an interesting possibility with PN requirements. some of the armamants would be of US origin so at some point a US-NOC may be required.

PN would want to integrate the Harpoon blk1/11 as well as the C802.

.
It's a nice aircraft for intended purpose, AFAIK this aircraft is also among the contenders for medium range marine recon aircraft for Indian navy.
