Pakistan may order more CN-235 aircrafts from Indonesia

hold your horses. a visit by a top brass dosnt always result in orders. the PN needs to replace the lost P3C and the CN235 MSA/MPA platform is an interesting possibility with PN requirements. some of the armamants would be of US origin so at some point a US-NOC may be required.

PN would want to integrate the Harpoon blk1/11 as well as the C802.

Sir ji its neither what our news channels have reported nor a speculation by few members rather it is coming from the official website, so it may not just be based upon rumors or lame wishes of some fanboys

And also they are stated to replace the fokkers and berquet not P-3C

Although CN-235 is a nice aircraft but the reality is that we need a plane like CN-295 which is best suited for all the roles.
Like PAF should have placed an order for 11 CN-295 for transport purpose:

Man we need these in large numbers for transport and logistics purposes, unless of course we can get a much bigger aircraft similar to the C-130's (which we only have in small numbers).

I don't see the logic in replacing P3Cs with CN235....i mean P3Cs offer much more over CN235..........CN235 might be good for fokker replacement and perhaps in anti piracy role.........but not much for anti shipping/anti submarine roles...

I think Navy should look seriously towards this in number like 11 of these 7 as MPAs and 4 for transport roles for SSG(N) and Marines for air drop purposes. As this is now being done by foker which is in bad condition and we also need to replace berquet as well. For P-3C its a super plane with many Political issues, so in between these the 7 CN-295MPAs will going to help a lot to PN along with the 5-7 P-3Cs we have.

This plane could mean that Pakistan has developed its own ANTI SHIP missiles and these planes may get P3Orion like capabilities with Chinese joint cooperation

And why the PAF,ARMY, and Navy cant buy chinese Planes for the Transport Role ? Like the Yun-8 Turboprop Transport Aircraft or the Yun-7 Turboprop Transport Aircraft or the Y-12 ? They are cheaper and so they could order them in higher Numbers. Why the Army, Navy and PAF cant use all the same Type of Transport Helicopter, and Tranport Plane....ist stupid to have so much different Types of Planes.

These planes are also used by SSG guys... i know an SSG who travelled in a US army c-130 gunship........and was very impressed with it...... i wish we could buy them..

Although I have also supported this since many years that PAF should acquire the Y-9 Transport or like if we had the money we could have done a JV to make it similar to C-130J-30 with improve wing design and greater wing area. Moreover, building its twin engine smaller aircraft like CN-295 but all this with composite so that it will have a good life and lighter weight. So then
PAF could induct:
21 Y-9 Transport(In three phases like 7 Aircraft in every 5 years)
11-15 Twin engine version like CN-295(in three phases)
11 Y-9 AEW&Cs(in three phases)

PN could induct:
11 Y-9 MPAs(in two phases in 10 years)
5-7 Twin engine version like CN-295MPAs(in 5 years)
5-7 Twin engine version like CN-295 for transport(in 5 years)
3-5 Y-9 AEW&Cs(in three phases)

PN should now and I think would had look towards its induction in fleet, about 11 of these:

11 is not required 5 of them are sufficient Y-9 is new Transport but has more commonality with Y-8. Pricing would be the major concern I believe its price could be closer 30%-40% lesser than C-130J baseline model at $65M-$67M but perhaps PAF is not risking purchases over established product.
