Pakistan may be able to avoid a full-blown economic crisis

Hey buddy
I don't know much about you but looking at how well your post is written I believe you're well educated. My only question is how can you be vocal for thugs? You can be anti-IK for whatever reason there could be but seriously?
I'm not anti-IK. In fact, I appreciate IK (and Bajwa) for the cessation of meaningless fire across LoC. Many soldiers are alive (on both sides), thanks to this rational agreement. No other PM from Pakistan has done something so meaningful for the Indian side. I'm also not pro-Shahbaz. In fact, I did not know of his existence until a few months ago when people started posting his name more frequently on this forum. I only knew of Nawaz from Kargil episode.

My opinions on this forum are my unadulterated thoughts. I do not value anything I write here as more than a soliloquy. If you think there is a rational fallacy in my opinions, then feel free to correct them.

As for calling a politician thug etc., I do not believe anyone can be a successful politician in poor countries without stepping on a few egg shells. If you spend some time to think about the economics involved in running a political party and contesting an election, you will likely come to the same rational conclusions as I have.

You're an Indian? My bad I thought you're a Pakistani.

If Pakistan gets divided it won't be the economy but the Army and Political agenda of these regional parties.

In Past, the unity factor was Islam & Military, but the military has shown where it stands, to keep stronger hold of national and international affairs military had kept a very weak center that can be controlled easily which turned into regional parties getting stronger in their own state and controlling most in that part.

Now if we didn't had IK a common point for the public to support in these regions very likely, in 2 decades' time we might have seen Sindh with PPP being pushed for more autonomy to heck even independence by Zardari Clan.
Punjab wouldn't have gone for independence but things would have gone to very worse very soon.

Pakistan needs to cleanse its corrupt bureaucracy & military top brass. Otherwise, things would go back from where it started, to clear out Pakistan needs very strong political leadership to guide this country, that can withstand the current military and system.
IK might be the start but should not be the end.
PTI needs to build stronger leadership and show the people that they are the change, instead of just solely depending on IK, I would highly advise after IK becomes PM next time he should step away from leadership and build PTI's next generational leadership and focus on that.
No it's always the economy that leads to the above that leads to breakage

or may be not . another soviet union is coming ?
Not the Soviet Union. But you may have to agree to tribal demands of Sharia in former FATA areas to save any operational costs of going against groups like TTP. Other than that, high inflation will hurt the lower strata but that's something that the ruling class is ready to do.

notice how all these imf agents end up in sensitive institutions of Pakistan
Economic hitmen of IMF/WEF at work in Pak…….

Anyone cares?
Maybe 1 day sime wikk be in charge of the missiles too

It's not really surprising though is it? People with experience of the biggest international money lender to governments around the world are going to be of interest to our govts finance dept - seeing as how we're constantly borrowing money to live beyond our means.

Can you explain more
Well it's one institution which has held most power since the independence, and its mostly used by a few people to save their own skin but have gone spectacularly wrong every single time

47 - 58
After the death of Mr Jinnah & Liaquat Ali Khan, it left a giant vacuum that other politicians couldn't really unite both Eastern & Western Pakistan, the majority of the population was not educated enough to actually lead itself, so few people in power high-jacked the whole process.

The Late 50s & Early 60s
Iskander Mirza & Ayub Khan ERA, Mirza was the main person who pushed Pakistan to this road, To keep his power, Mirza brought Ayub, Enforced Marital Law,
They tried with signal party rule and a few other experiments but didn't work by that time, so Mainly Pakistan was under martial law in that time, which weaken political parties, Judicial system hence there was no check and balance which meant stronger kept getting stronger and for weaker we already where this will lead to. and in the end, last his own seat to Ayub

65
65 Elections, Ayub rigged the system to stay in power, and Lady Fatima lost the election tried lawsuit didn't work, she passed away in 67 only God knows if it was a natural cause or was assassinated.
65 War
No matter where both countries stand on who won the war. It did give a lot of heroes to Pakistan from the military but the institution did lose some of its support, meanwhile in 60s Bhutto became a major political figure in Pakistan & the International stage. Would suggest reading up on him & his involvement with US, China , India, Germany & Poland

70s
General Yayha is in power, 70s Election happens the majority of votes are in the favour of Mujib, while PPP wins the majorityof seats in West Pakistan. and for the first time in the history of Pakistan, Pakistani generals actively work to go against the people of Pakistan, and try to Crush the Awami League and its supporter, that started independence movements, While India had its own plans, Mujib was charged with treason, Bhutto started blaming Yahya for the screw-up, he was charged for Treason as well.
Gone fast forward a bit
Bhutto Brings Zia in power, as he took he was a weak general.
Zia kills Bhutto, to keep PPP in check, Zia dismantles PPP and brings Nawaz's Family in Power
Zia dies, Benzair is in action, Military is trying to sabotage her Campaigns. ( forget about what happened in Karachi this time by the military )
Nawaz gets overthrown by Musharraf. ( Nawaz Clan attacks Courts, Bribes were given openly )
Kiyani Supports Zardari busy time for Pakistan ( Sindh is given to PPP in a platter )
Nawaz is back in power ( Raheel is busy with WOT in Pakistan, goes hard against some elements after the attack on Peshawar ) ( They bring favorites in selection positions to control Punjab as they see fit )
A week PTI comes into Power since all is in stalemate as neither PTI is strong enough to make actual change nor other parties have any unity to overthrow the government.
Uncle Sam & military leadership get involved PTI is overthrown, as IK won't follow the SO CALLED SCRIPT LAID BY the Establishment.

Pakistan has seen some development whenever the military has controlled the Centre, but they systematically made sure Courts, Police, NAB, Media, and all other organizations are run by corrupt people as well, as they won't go against the higher order.

Thanks to Social Media Pakistani people are able to see and hear the other side even when there is a media blackout forced by the establishment.

you gotta understand one very simple point, Pakistan has been fighting WOT for over a decade why has Pakistan never made a move against who fund these organization in Pakistan, never went against these Islamist parties, never went against who train these people, be it India, Afghanistan, US or all the world, Answer to this question is very simple these things keep Pakistan military relevant, Why they are running all kind of side business in Pakistan, heck the biggest enemy of India, Pakistan military sell its CEMENT :D I mean its under a different brand name but isn't that same military, You name any business its run by the Military in Pakistan, just few examples, giant construction companies, giant food companies, Steel mills, insurance companies, banking system, Housing Societies heck Airline military is involved.

Somewhere something is wrong. Until all the leadership of the Pakistani military who ever involved in coups in Pakistan no matter how old they are, brought to justice and punished for the crimes this will never change, Pakistan will always stay in this limbo.

This has been India's mainstream media narrative for many years now. Imran's revolution has managed to stamp India's narrative about Pakistani establishment in Pakistan. However, I believe that this is only a momentary blip. All will be forgotten and forgiven when Imran gets back in power :pop:

I think IMF involvement is not limited to the finance department

Unless you have a dictator running the show, no matter what kind of side shows the military is involved in you won't see the whole country going against them. forget what Pakistan & India have done to each other, just look at what the US has done to the whole world and US defensive spending is bigger than a lot of countries total GDP itself, which should answer your question itself.
in regards to the Pakistani situation.

Pakistan & IK have 2 routes
1 They can go the Erdogan route, SET a precedent for the future that selection is based on seniority, limit Military involvement full fill his promise that he will go against everyone who were involved in this whole episode so next time the military doesn't tuck its tail and run when US orders and stands for Pakistani people.

2 Keep the current norm and be ready for future adventures by military and than PTI will be in same position PMLN are in today.

In regards to the Indian narrative that doesn't matter in this situation as India & Pakistan are both guilty as much as each other, you can't just go blind to India has done nothing wrong to Pakistan. So it would be better to keep that out and stick to the main issue which is affecting Pakistan, not India

But only if everything goes right

On the list of unfortunate economies that markets think might soon follow Sri Lanka into debt default and economic crisis, Pakistan sits near the top. It relies heavily on imported food and energy. As commodity prices have soared, its current-account balance has widened and hard currency has drained away. In the past year, Pakistan’s foreign-exchange reserves have shrunk by more than half, to just over $9bn, about six weeks’ worth of imports. Its currency, the rupee, has lost 24% of its value against the dollar in 2022. Many reckon that a crisis is inevitable.

Not Murtaza Syed. A former employee of the International Monetary Fund (imf) now serving as acting head of Pakistan’s central bank, Mr Syed believes the country is well equipped to survive its current troubles. It is thanks only to lazy markets’ unwillingness to take a nuanced view of individual countries’ circumstances that Pakistan finds itself lumped in with other, more endangered economies

We try to neutralize threats to national security, if they are within range. Why have we been ignoring corrupt people?
