Pakistan looks beyond the Gulf towards China.

When Saudi Arabia pressed Pakistan last August to repay early a US$3 billion soft loan, Riyadh’s demand caught Islamabad’s rulers by surprise.

Islamabad quickly dispatched its current army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa to Riyadh to defuse the tensions, but the mission failed as Saudi officials stood firm on their early repayment demand. Riyadh also froze a $3.2 billion oil credit facility with Islamabad.

Saudi Arabia applied the squeeze soon after Pakistan’s foreign minister criticized the kingdom for its perceived stalling on convening an Organization of Islamic Conference’s (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers meeting on Kashmir, where Pakistan is locked in a conflict with India.

The incident underscored fast-shifting South Asia-Middle East relations, with several Gulf states that previously habitually sided with Muslim majority Pakistan now instead prioritizing growing their commercial and economic ties with India.

That mounting dynamic is pushing Pakistan ever closer to China, which provided funds to repay part of the Saudi loan. On December 17, Pakistan repaid $1 billion as a second tranche of its accelerated repayment schedule.

Will not be slaves to Arabs anymore ❤

What do you even mean by slaves? slow down little bit. No arab hold Pakistan territories nor is there an Arab as the president of Pakistan. It is called politics and diplomacy. Don't take some garbage article without any sources as fact or what is truly happening behind the scenes. Pakistan actully recently signed defense treaty with Oman. Pakistan actully has 3000 forces deployed inside Saudi Arabia as we speak. It is in Pakistan's foreign policy interest lets put the brakes on such offensive rhetoric and slow things down and let rationality take hold. Pakistan is just to powerful for any country to claim sovereignity over it. Pakistan has deployed these forces for it's own interests and future goals if the Arabs were the fail the security responsbility Pakistan will take charge

LMAO thats why they were pressuring us, banning us for visas, and calling for the loan back. I could care less about the Arab World.

Pakistan needs to diversify its partnerships.
Good point, so lets avail this opportunity and discuss analyzing the current partnerships of Pakistan along with the opportunities we have.

I feel that we are relying too much on China. With the one party system all it takes one bully president who can misuse our dependency on China. Although the liklyhood is rare as it will destroy image of china as global leader but possibility is there.

Potential countries beside USA, turkey and China where we could have strategic relationship are:
Russia.
Germany.
France.
Indonessia.
Malaysia.
South africa.
Egypt.
Kenya.
Brazil.
Japan.
Bangladesh.
Canada.
Italy.
UK

List can goes on and on. There r lot of potentials in these countries.its jot necessary u get strngth from big boys only infact we can earn much more from trade from middle and lower income countries. The low price products we produce of our local markets cannot be sold in high end markets like USA and Europe. However they could be hot cake in price sensitive market like africa. Recently we sold millat tractors in Africa which was a good step.

The thing is China need Pakistan, vice versa.
Mutual interests guaranteed.
Fascism Hindutva is rising in India, we better get armed than sorry.
What will happen when they dont need us ? We have to prepare for that.

Too much dependency on 1 country is detrimental. Learn from history. USA ditched us after 80s and left us to rot in 90s after demise of soviet union. The original plan was to let us die in a civil war exported from afghanistan however with the support of divine power we got out of mess by establishment of Taliban government in afghanistan back in 1994 to 1996.

A lot of other event happened back then but learning from history we should understand a relationship based on common enemy is not long lasting. So we need to evolve this relationship into 50 - 50 partnership rather than on just receiving end plus we need to develop other partners as well.

It hasn't for the last 50 years and unlikely for another 100 Years. India is more likely to be dumped by US for it's Nazis policies.
