Pakistan lauds UN for taking down “one-sided” photo exhibition by Bangladesh on 1971 events

Mon, 3 Apr 2023, 5:45 PM
ISLAMABAD, Apr 3 (APP): Pakistan on Monday appreciated the swift action by the United Nations for immediately taking down a photo exhibition held by Bangladesh Permanent Mission at the United Nations peddling “one-sided and controversial” narrative of 1971 events.

The Foreign Office spokesperson, in a statement said that the so-called photo exhibition was a “failed” attempt by the Permanent Mission of Bangladesh to peddle one-sided and controversial narrative on the 1971 events at the United Nations.

“When pointed out by the Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the UN, the exhibition was taken down immediately due to its misrepresentation of history and non-compliance with relevant UN rules. We appreciate the swift action taken by the United Nations in this regard,” the spokesperson remarked.

“We believe that the issues related to the events of 1971 were resolved through an agreement concluded by the then leadership of Pakistan and Bangladesh in 1974. Pakistan reaffirms its sincere desire for close and fraternal relations with the people of Bangladesh,” the spokesperson added.

Bangladesh insists on revisiting the decisions taken in 1974. Pakistan must oblige and revoke the acknowledgement of Bangladesh under fascist Bhutto regime.

Its 2023. Move on!

Regardless of what year it is, the "genocide" of 1971 is a fiction. Operation searchlight was conducted in reaction to the barbarism of Bengali Muslim nationalist militias.

Muslim nationalism because non-Muslim Bengalis were excluded and even targeted. Read Sharmilla Bose's book.

As such Pakistan has no need to apologize for something it did not do. War crimes were committed on both sides. But since Bangladeshis keep bringing this up, they can only make an issue of this only after apologizing for their war crimes in 1971.

This includes targeting West Pakistani civilians and provoking troops with their violent unprovoked attacks.

Whatever was the case, we south Asians have a habit of staying in the past. This is why we are the perfect example of Apocrypha.

No doubt, there were killing in BD in 1971. A war is all about killing. But, the BAL party wants the world to believe in 3 million killed.

Well, how about their graveyards? Can someone tell us if he has ever seen more than ten graves?

3 million killed in 9 months means 11,000 killed every day. Hitler must be angry to hear that some other country did in nine months what his Gestapo could not do in 4 years.

I again ask the BAL bastards not to play with reality and replace facts with fiction. Learn humility from Vietnam. It has got all the proof to claim the about 1 million killings in more than 3 decades of war against France and then America.

But BD has nothing but unproved claims.

So if a non-Muslim is getting executed due to his religion, it is fine...But if Muslims are being impacted, then the whole Muslim world should be awakened to provide justice...

@leonblack08 @Homo Sapiens
guys, what's this? Hasina govt having trouble at home? It's not even a significant date as far as 1971 is concerned.
Hasina lost confidence to get elected by the people in the next election, she also lost confidence that the major media outlet will act as a propaganda machine for her. She also lost confidence that the rest of the world except India will support her or at least remain silent in doing vote theft like she has done in the last time. She is worried that, if she does the 2018 like vote theft, Western countries will impose sanctions. Opposition lead BNP is determined this time not to allow her to do vote robbery again.

So, the only thing left in her arsenal is whipping up anti-Pakistan and pro-India narratives so that people start hating BNP(whom they have branded as an ''anti-liberation force'') and love India and BAL and vote her. But the 1971 issue is a dead horse for most people of Bangladesh, no matter how much she beat it, it will not rise. People are more concerned about the present and future.

It is her direction that, foreign missions are acting in this way. Not only UN, more than 50 missions of Bangladesh are organizing such exhibitions and other campaigns related to 1971.

Sorry, but I think you meant non-Muslim Bengalis being targeted by Bengali Muslim militias, not by Pakistani Armed Forces. Read Sharmila Boses's book.

@White and Green with M/S remove your like from his/her comment as they clearly misunderstood my post.

Yes, Muslims love to play single-track games that favors only them. They will refer to a few old books to prove their actions have been sanctioned by someone in the Sky.
