I don't want to comment on your example because it will be pointless debate.... but regarding your views that soldiers go for win then what if both sides have different objectives and if both sides accomplish those does that will mean winning the war..... i don't think so....

I was afraid someone might jump on the gun about that example...I am glad you did not. :D

Another example....Soviets lost around 7 million men fighting the germans, but succeeded....now they hold veto power..see ? victors. Now nobody cares that they had lost 7 million. Those soldiers lost their life for a cause and I am damn sure their family members are proud inspite of losing the one's dear.

Pakistan will have one objective...India's will be of to counter it, and vice versa.

I cant think of both countries having different objectives during war time.

.
I don't think Pakistan will sure lose a conventional war with India.

.
It depends on what kind of war it is.

Pakistan cannot win an offensive conventional war with India but can certainly force a stalemate by fighting a defensive conventional war with India.

.
whenever india engages in hostile acts against Pakistan, Pakistan can and will retaliate proportionately

no need to worry about conventional or non-conventional; the bottom line is that india lacks the capability and the balls to touch Pakistan without facing dire punishment

~~~~~~ never mind ~~~~~
What " dire punishment" did we get in 71?
decades later the people of the country you "liberated" hates you and they are flocking into your country en masse - given that West Bengal also belongs to them.....have fun with that one
dont worry about punishment from the state when 10 kids who had nothing even to do with Pakistani state were able to 'punish' your entire financial capital for almost 3 entire days
Pakistan knows it can't win a conventional war with India
There has to be an operational rethinking in the Indian Army," says Lieutenant General D B Shekatkar (retd). "It has to be a proactive rather than a reactive army."
Pointing out to what United States Defence Secretary Leon Panetta said recently that America will take action against anyone from whom there is a threat, the retired general said similarly, if India feels that there is an imminent threat from any sector on the Line of Control, which divides India and Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir, it should take firm action rather that waiting for an attack first.
"If there is a violation of ceasefire and incidents like the crude beheading and mutilation of troops, then the local commander should have the authority to retaliate immediately to prevent further ingress and to halt them from taking further liberties again and again."
"If you retaliate after a few days, then the impact of retaliation is lost and according to international norms, you will be accused of violating (the ceasefire), but if you retaliate immediately then you can say they acted first and there was no option but to retaliate," the general told Rediff.com on the telephone from Pune.
"If you say we will do it at a time and place of our choosing, then it does not make that much sense of what is required to be done," General Shekatkar said.
There are mainly three reasons for retaliation along the LoC: Retaliation in self defence when the soldier is fired upon from across; Retaliation when there is a violation of the ceasefire; and,
Retaliation to punish them so that they don't repeat it again.
"We in the Indian Army don't take any pleasure in violating the Line of Control. We never cross the Line of Control," the general said vehemently.
The radicalisation and Islamisation of the Pakistan army began with then president General Zia-ul Haq, General Shekatkar said.
There were instances of mutilation and beheading of Indian soldiers in the early 1990s, which precedes the Kargil War.
"Pakistan knows it cannot win a conventional war with India, that it will suffer a crushing defeat if it fought a conventional war; that is why it has continued with the policy of bleeding an army of 1.3 million and a country of 1.2 billion people by a thousand cuts."
The general was part of several flag meetings with his Pakistani counterparts when he served the army and as Additional Director Military Operations has had the opportunity to speak to the DGMO, Pakistan, when the Indian DGMO was out of station.
Forty-one years after Pakistan's defeat in the 1971 war, the Pakistan army still has not been able to reconcile to its defeat and the creation of Bangladesh, the general felt.
The present senior echelons of the Pakistan army must have been 17, 18 years at that time, he added, and carry that grudge which has been passed on to younger soldiers who were not even born at that time.
An officer who knows too well the pain of sending the dead body of a martyred soldier to his home and family, the general, who has served multiple tenures in Jammu and Kashmir, says however noble the intention it is to retrieve slain Lance Naik Hemraj's head, it is a difficult task.
"Firstly, Pakistan has not accepted that the act has been done by them and returning the head would prove their crime. Secondly, nearly ten days later, it is difficult to imagine the condition of the severed head, which would depend on the availability of a mortuary at the forward area," adds General Shekatkar, stressing the barbarity of the beheading, which has added to the martyr's family's agony because they had to conduct the last rites deprived of being able to see his face one last time.
"To be able to see the face of a loved one who is no more, is part of our Indian culture. Imagine, what the pain of the family of that soldier must be," the general, who has also served extensively in India's Northeast, said.
"Such barbaric acts reflect that there has been a Talibanisation of the Pakistan army. Such a mindset is bound to have an impact on events within their own country," he continued.
"An army that gets used to barbarism cannot overnight change and behave in a humanitarian manner and abide by the code of conventional/unconventional operations."
Poor indian generals .................they know their government will takes away even their security after retirement, soout of frustration and jeloudy they keep putting such monkey shows.
India may have larger numbers but likewise they have many times larger area to cover...
MKI may be large and twin engine but it has to cover all the way from Ladakh to Andaman...
PAF has limited area to cover,and for that reason comparing numbers isnt the right comparison..
Wrong comparison to use. During war, all these assets converge baring very few remaining on the NE border. So all these assets come to bear against Pakistan. There is no pressing need to keep assets anywhere else. Eg: IN western and eastern fleets converge at the Arabian sea for war keeping minimum assets elsewhere. That is the beauty of diplomacy - we share brilliant relations with everyone barring China and Pakistan.
whenever india engages in hostile acts against Pakistan, Pakistan can and will retaliate proportionately
Actually Pakistan's ability to respond to India in the same proportions is decreasing decade on decade. These rhetorical lines are a thing of the 90's. Pakistan does not enjoy this luxury of even equal anymore. Money talks. And you dont have any.
There will be only one kind of war with Pakistan - an offensive India and a defensive Pakistan.
Days of Pakistan going for the offensive are gone. That window closed more than a decade back. The disparity is too big now.
.
LOL.. Indian MKI and Mirrages were locked by Pakistani F-7, not so long ago and next day all was clam.
Last time Indian MIG-21 Flied near border and Shoot down PAK Navy PLane , near Karachi, where PAF bases unable to start their Plane engines,
Actions speaks more then imaginary world.
Well Mr Ball Scanner, what can i say you are the Ball expert.
When there is no logic in the argument, ppl come to conclusions like 1 person of xx = 10 ppl of xx, Ball Scanning etc.
Well Indian Speaks and some action when need, Last time i seen IAF plane flying near border and shooting down Navy Plane, while PAF radar and plane unable to start their engines.
The lame excuses given PAF , Navy etc. dont have radar etc, at Given point of time India has 2-4 Fighter in air along border.
Next time again you see any IA, AIF coulum doing something while you cant see anything....
.
and from where did you come to know about this BS ??? :angry:
Indian army is far more technologically advanced and network centric than PA.. and do not talk about courage,IA "never ever surrendered before PA", while the converse is not true
Oh dont be angry at facts...Although your Airforce is going somewhere with new acquisitions of fighter aircrafts (and that too after 2017) but not the IA.. The problem is getting new equipments for 1.2 million army..Very expensive and very time consuming as indian army imports most of the stuff..All these has been stated by Indian army chief...
True, but when India launches its offensive attack into Pakistan, it will face trenches, barbed wire, mines, artillery, enemy tanks, machine guns, tribal militias, etc....
In other words, Indian attack into Pakistan will be very costly and will get bogged down in heavy Pakistani defences.
Kind of like what happened to the Germans when they attacked the Russians at Kursk in July 1943.
You are right. It will if India attacks now. But the factor why Pakistan's ability to take the war to India stopped is still not over.
The same reasons/factors are continuing.
As it is the people of Pakistan have started questioning why such an enormous amount of annual budget is given to PA. India is still growing much faster than Pakistan. If this current trend continues - say for another decade, India will find yet more money to spend while Pakistan will not. Then the current power disparity will widen even more.
