It's true relations are not exactly very warm but they've never been really hostile to point of war either- Iran is doing what is within it's own interests they might say same about our historical support for afghan taliban who slaughtered shias and one of worst enemies of Iran.They are surrounded by hostile U.S/Nato in afghanistan and Iraq in east and west and then saudi arabia to south. We don't need to antagonize each other it will make just yet another enemy on another border for both that's what both of our enemies is to turn us against each other esp as iran does not wish for pakistan's destruction or have any territorial dispute with us.

I am not here to defend or explain why some Pakistanis (most probably shias) went in that sectarian war but when they see their sacred personalities (Muhammad PBUH's family) tombs systematically being destroyed and attacked then they see it their religious duty and if Iranian Ayatullahs offers some money as well then so be it

since these travels are unofficial and in individual capacity so Pakistani state bears no burden or responsibility

i am all for not blindly doing Saudi bidding but Chabahar is a stab in the back and one we should not forget

Chabahar is good for pakistan we've been keeping them going for years. It will allow us to finally detatch ourselves from them. It will be easier to close the border if we want without worrying about starving them to death or feeling guilty as we do now.
Let the afghans turn elsewhere instead of lining at pakistan's doorstep all the time.We know exactly how the afghans operate and how symbiotic they are- Let them bug the Iranians and indians instead of us lol.Less reliance and attention on pakistan is less pressure and headache for us.
