Pakistan hires lobbying firm in US capital

.
Absolutely not!

Absolutely correct!

A start is better than no start. "Starting to build a skyscraper from midair at the 10th floor on upwards is not likely to work very well. Please dream on! :D"

Not applicable. That comment was said in response to the workforce development thread, and does not apply to hiring a lobbyist in DC.

Of course cherry picking is your specialty my mistake.

"Scandals" like the one you highlighted (where Reynolds was not convicted of anything) are commonplace in DC. Going by your reasoning a country that is practically bankrupt should pay the best firm or no firm. Thanks for your concern, it's duly noted.

Twisting words to keep your smallfloppy happy eh? :D

I said a BETTER firm and lobbyist than Tom Reynolds would have been a BETTER choice, of which there are many. How did you get from that to "best firm or no firm"? Apparently, reasoning is not your strength, is it? :D

Does thinking of my smallfloppy make your hard drive happy? FYI old man there are probably more people on the internet who don't know what a floppy is so keep your dirty thoughts to yourself.

That's the biggest nugget of wisdom I've ever come across...there's a better option? Wow! You are a fountain of wisdom for sure! No one else in the world could ever think there would be better options out there.

I guess stating the obvious is what you are referring to as the pinnacle of reasoning I'll let you continue.

.
Tom Reynolds paid the price for supporting Mark Foley, and in the present environment he is a compromised lobbyist, specially given the dynamics between the Democrats and the Republicans in the run up to the elections.

.
Lobbyists can’t do much unless they are provided both with funds and good material.

We dont have an active ambassador in US. We used to have a stooge at place, having no work and keeping his pockets filled with money.

Are you talking about the current ambassador? Compared to his predecessors, he's doing a good -- and hard -- job of lobbying Congress.

But still, there's a lot of work to do besides hiring a lobbying firm.

1. Pakistan is weak on public diplomacy, especially in interfacing with US media, think tanks, etc.
2. It needs to work harder to work with Pakistan-American community on getting its message out.
3. Pakistan needs to do a better job branding themselves, which will include a major PR push.

A good lobbyist will work with whatever positive material they are provided with, or can spin appropriately, to the best possible effect for their client.

I was hinting at a more holistic approach. Lobbyists are one part of what needs to be a multi-prong process.

Someone who belongs to the race and nation that calls for the death and destruction of the Pakistani race and nation will REALLY know what's good for lobbying Pakistan's interest at the White House........:disagree:.........it's like German Nazis lobbying for Jewish interests.........:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Because Indians are good at lobbying while Pakistanis are quite bad at it. Perhaps you should learn something from Indians instead of complaining about Indian lobbies.

.
these firms will only suck money with no output, they are not much needed if our foreign Minister and staff at Pakistani embassy is active and does their job in good manner

Obviously you have no clue how things work on higher level.... you would stand there and hand out flyers
