Pakistan has to accept India as big brother

China came down hard on Musharraf when Chinese engineers involved in projects in Pakistan got killed.

I hope you get my point. If Pakistan gives China a bloody nose this higher than Himalayas, deeper than seas friendship will vanish like water vapour.

why you indian always made up stories, chinese got killed by terrorist ,what it has to do with pakistan?Pakistan Govt also saved a chinese,we are just grateful for that

Let me answer the question plainly:

Indian and Pakistan will remain separate as long as Pakistanis hold onto their Islamic beliefs and Indians cling on to their Hindu beliefs. Remove the religious barriers then it becomes possible to join as one. But it seems neither side is willing to do that. Simple as that!

India And Pakistan will never be at Peace or be brothers.

The reason is simple AND ITS NOT ABOUT KASHMIR.

Its about the rise of india as a major Power both in terms of Economy & military.

By 2020 India will have a GDP same size as UK & France and have the 5th largest military budget in the world (today is the 10th largest)

Pakistanis FEAR INDIAN hegomany / dominance both in this region and they detest with venom India,s increasing international prestige and voice,

The voice include G20 membership and increasing trade but in particular military cooperation with ONE TIME pakistani ALLY USA.

Pakistan is relying on MAD / nuclear missles will GIVE pakistan a VOICE both in subcontinent and the world.. They fear THEIR VOICE being drowned out by a very large powerful INDIA.

Kashmir is not the REAL REASON FOR THE DISPUTE

Since you are so ashamed of your Indian heritage that you don't even openly acknowledge it in your flags, we can safely ignore your periodic rants, which are always high on hyperbole and devoid of content.

And using capital letters doesn't make your statements any more legitimate. It only shows you as a desperate little boy shouting for attention.

Wrong. Pakistan dealt with criminals who killed our Chinese guests because China is our friend.

If India dealt with its neighbors on a friendly basis, instead of being an arrogant, self-deluded bully, it would also find a cooperative reception at the other end.

Sino, you should be the last one to talk about religion if you believe in communism, so save the "simple as that"

India already has population of muslims almost equal to Pakistan living much more freedom that muslims in China can imagine.

If you push that line of thought. Pakistan would be ideologically more close to India than China, as India provides more religious freedom than does China. So careful what you say ;)

In politics, there are no permanent enemies or friends. Affiliations are changed based on strategic needs of that time. Who knows tomorrow India and China will be fighting US-Pak tomorrow (not literally...but in a geo political sense). India-China is a bloc even today on climate change...

However, the problem is ...u cannot choose your neighbours. So peace is the way forward. What we dont know is the way to reach peace in a win-win scenario for all.

its just on observation.

Sorry re the CAPITALS.

Like i said its facinating watching wat is Happening in India the last few years in terms of business trade and development AND the stark contrast in Pakistan with USA and The Taliban and political unrest in Pakistan.

Let watch see wat unfolds for the sub continent.

Somebody was talking about an Indian obsession with neighbours, here we have someone admitting obsessing over a single neighbour. Why so much attention? Why not give some more importance to Afghanistan, Iran etc. for a change?

As far as we know Afghanistan and Iran don't have ambitions to dominate the region. OK, Iran does, but it is focussing westwards.

We, on the other hand, have managed to keep India busy so all it's neighbors are spared the Akhand Bharat delusion.

But in that you lost your integrity... Great achievement I must say

Nope. Integrity is just fine. We just have some bad politicians right now, but nothing from which we can't recover.

People forget that the Pakistani public is quite well off. Pakistan collects income tax from only 1% of its population. And the feudal lords are mostly exempt. If we ever get an honest government that reforms the tax system and corruption, Pakistan will have more than enough money to manage its economy better.

Developereo- "Right now you are a regional bully who, infatuated by newfound Western courtship, is an arrogant pain in the a** to all its neighbors. Like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and China, we will continue to keep a watchful eye on you"

Can you list things you feel make India a regional bully and also list how another regional power treats its neignbours differently? Lets leave out stuff like 71 and LTTE from it...

Also, you mention that if India doesnt behave like a regional bully Pakistan and others will give it respect etc..Can you list things India should start doing that maybe another regional power is doing for its smaller neighbours, just for the sake of a fair comparison?

Big brother? i think it was a slip of tongue. He must be wanted to say Bigfoot ;)

On a related note, dunno about the brother bit, but this thread suggests that we at least fight like brothers - all the petty squabbling, viciousness and hostility of the typically 'healthy' South Asian joint family!

I think that's what the good general meant.

1. India is funding terrorism in Balochistan besides shelttering BLA terrorists.

2. India is illegaly diverting Pakistani water ( i call it water theft you can call it whatever you like)

3. India is also diverting Bangladeshi water illegaly making Bangladesh barren rapidly.

4. India is occupying Nepali land day by day illegaly.

5. India has border disputes with China, BD and so on.

6. India is interffering in Nepal, BD, smaller nations like Bhutan, and Maldevs too.

7. India is also fomenting terror in Pakistan through its training camps in Afghanistan.

8. India is blocking every move by Pakistan that could strengthen Pakistani security and defence.

Above all Indian state terrorism is continued in illegaly occupied Kashmir valley.

In short India is a regional bully not a big brother.

Just one example is the Mumbai terrorist attacks.

Pakistan offered to help in a joint investigation and even send over an investigative team.
Pakistan offers help to India in Mumbai terror probe (Lead)

India rebuffed Pakistan's offer haughtily and tried to dictate to Pakistan what it should do. India tried acting like the US after 9/11. But it is not a superpower. It shouldn't presume to act that way. Even the US has learnt its lesson and toned down its arrogance.

That is what I mean by the recent Western courtship having gone to India's head. The West will move on, once their interests are satisfied. But India will have to live with its neighbors forever.

Gen. Durrani's quote in context was, "Destabilizing Pakistan would be a very short-sighted and counter-productive policy for India. Similarly, Pakistan has to accept and respect India as the big brother."

The headline for this article could have also been:

"Destabilizing Pakistan a very short-sighted and counter-productive policy for India"
