What's new

Pakistan has bought these Beasts from Serbia

Hyungung Raybolt is a great top attack ATGM.

Politically i think that ROK can get pressurised by Unc Sam against pakistan and according to many Pakistan has allegedly collaborated with DPRK in past over missiles tech.
South Korea will agree to sell us weapons in fact they are quite keen on getting the contract to develop Ship Yard at Gawader so it won't much of a issue

S Korea offers assistance to build shipyards

ISLAMABAD - South Korea on Friday offered Pakistan assistance to build new shipyards at Karachi and Gwadar. The offer has been given by the Korean authorities to Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain who is visiting South Korea on invitation of Defence Minister Korea Gen (Retd) Kim Tae Young.

According to the ministry of defence, the Korean defence minister held key meeting with minister for defence production in which he thanked Pakistan for always standing by Korea since 1950s when it was faced with wars. Korea , he said, is ready to cooperate with Pakistan in all the fields of defence production. He commended the recent stride in the defence industry of Pakistan and expressed hope for larger and greater avenues of joint collaboration.

Korean officials have also shown keen interest in the second shipyard being built in Pakistan. They have offered assistance to build the new shipyards at Karachi and Gwadar. Pakistan has appreciated their desire and has asked the Korean authorities to look into it favourably. Besides Korea showed interest in the ammunition, shipping and aircraft industries and offered further avenues of collaboration.

Pakistan also appraised the Koreans of the new B-7 level APCs being indigenously built in Pakistan. "We have by the Grace of Allah Almighty been able to develop one of the best B-7 protection vehicles," Tanveer said. He also added that the strides in communication systems by Pakistan is significant, however if Korea and Pakistan further collaborate, it will emerge as one of the best radio telecom systems.

They are providing India with K-9 SP Artillery which is comparable to PA M-109A5. So yes their defence industry is booming and lots of indigenous weapon systems also lik =e Chunma, KM SAM etc. I learnt about Hyundai shipbuilding prowess a few months back and i was amazed to see how far an automobile company has come to be classed the largest ship building company in the world.
Alliance on all levels with ROK will bring lots of benefits to pakistan's civilian and military industry

Raising the standard and tech of Ship building in Pakistan is very important and needs solid tech.
Some of their equipment is expensive while its good tech like K-2 MBT. Turkey wanted to collaborate but then went on with Altay MBT which is influenced by K-2 to some extent.
The AD system Chunma is based on crotale, but Km SAM is medium range and can be a good asset.
Other systems like artillery, ATGM, MRL etc have a lot of competition internationally on tech and pricing so other options in the world can be looked at too.
Building a version of 5th gen aircraft by PAC based on KF-X and TF-X can be helpful in exploring options other than Chinese.

Its actually in civilian domain where korean tech can help in all sectors be it industrial (which is dying in pakistan) or infrastructure building.

Saying all this, acquisition of weapon or tech comes down to price/budget for Pakistan, as always.

Pakistan should allow them to build shipyard as they may offer advance tech and ship design.

Bunkers? on the Afghan borders? The point about Pakistan's discomfort with her western boundary is precisely that it does not have well-defined boundaries, and that the Afghans do not police their borders. Do they have bunkers there at all?
How... most likely this would be posted at Afghan borders. Why.... because India believes in hurting Pakistan by way of cold start.
These systems can come handy on our western border. Artillery strikes on JUA camps across the border at the start of the year were quite effective. One of their top commanders along with a dozen fighters perished and many of their training compounds were destroyed.

But the constant bombardment for two days created a diplomatic issue with Kabul.

If the effective range of this system is 50km and we can use our proxies or intelligence operators to designate targets by laser, then it is pretty much like launching an air strike without our planes violating Afghan airspace. As it will be a precision(well sort of) strike, there won't be much protest coming out of Kabul.

.
U can't send yr airforce across Afghanistan border. It will open a pandoras box. Will give india a reason to send thiers which will definitely not suitable at the moment for the region.
But u load a 500lb bomb on it send it across the border with pin point accuracy and no diplomatic issue.

First logical buy in some time.... O must say.

The new Kosava-1 optional-guided missile was displayed in the presence of Russian defence minister Sergei Shoigu and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on October 20.

The Kosava-1 is a Serbian long-range multipurpose missile system based on the improved version of Oganj rocket. The Kosava-1 missile system was developed primarily for missions against tanks, armored vehicles, fortifications, command posts, low-flying helicopters, coastal ships, industrial facilities and bridges at the 50 km distance.

After active phase of flight is completed, missile is released from Oganj’s rocket motor assembly by pyrotechnical/mechanical device, and continues flight with passive weapon guidance system which uses the infrared (IR) light emission or video signal from a target to track and follow it.

The warhead is a high-explosive fragmentation type with a total weight of 100 kg furnished with a contact and proximity fuse. The missile weight at launch – 309 kg, the rocket motor propellant weight – 61 kg.

The launcher with Kosava missiles can be mounted on a 6×6 light armoured vehicle that carried four missile canisters arranged that can be elevated and turned away from the unprotected cab.

According to the source, the first tests will be held in the near future in Pakistan.
