It can be written as 14,65,911 & we still use that system in English also.
Even on checks we use Lakh & crore not million or billion.

Regrettably as aptly said in the 1965 war song " Aye putr hattan tey nai vikday" We had one in Sahibzada Yaqub Khan. Don't know of any other having having similar breadth & depth of knowledge about war as well as of diplomacy.

Is it not possible that a select group amongst the military are then advised to chose healthy, fit intelligent spouses and then encouraged to have lots of babies, then advisers these children grew up and the ones who are gifted are encouraged to pursue a military career?

Sir IMHO you are sadly mistaken. I have had the opportunity to use Army National Guard Training Facilities while in US and interacted with the "Week End" Warriors also. High School education and above -- pretty alright troopers

Furthermore, I do not know if you know that most of the US Army formations have more than one ANG Unit attached as round out units.

The canon fodder is provided by the ANG and more specialised roles are kept with US Army that require more full time duty. Specialist roles might be Logistics Support etc.

I have family that are 101st and work on training- they can testify that the guard are pretty useless.
Compared to the regulars, the weekend warriors really can't shoot, can't organize tactics and generally aren't close to the physical fitness levels of regulars.

There have been exercises recently where a platoon of regular troopers has had an entire company of guard in chaos.

Cannon fodder isn't guard- it is the enlisted- guard is only deployed once those force reserve levels are deplted.
