ridicilous expectations. We are not living in Netherlands. There no special lanes for bicycles.the weather is extremely harsh for most of the year. Our cities were not designed keeping bike cyclists in mind (that is urban planners and architects fault tho)
what we need is more public transport. Trams, metro train stations, bus infrastructures. Only then we can reduce the need for oil.
I agree about public transportation part.
As for cycling lanes, no need. Where people are riding motor bikes, they can ride cycles too especially when there would be lesser number of cars. Don't forget our grand parents used to ride cycles on even non existent roads.
But the real reason for my suggestion of bicycle usage was health wise. Pakistanis are lazy bums with pot bellies even the skinny ones have 'em. Cycling will help them get fit. Once they start to get fit, harsh weather won't matter one bit.
