Beautiful machine

Love the multi mission options and customizations on this baby
This is what we need over the remote areas of Balohistan/Iran Border or Even large unpatrolled Afghan-Pakistan border

But it is off topic again and irrelevant to Pakistan's purchase of the Z-10 ... even more since @The Eagle had already requested to stop with that BS!

Just to bring things back on topic 😇

What is up with the add on armor on Z-10ME
1. Why is it as add on? Is it some sort of ERA?
2. Why those specific areas?

These are graphene armour plates. Graphene armour plates are extremely light weight and 200 times stronger than steel.

1) When Z10 began production many years ago, this type of armour plate has not been developed, thus it became an add-on to existing J10 design. No, it is not ERA, it is graphene armour.
2) Those areas are specific for protection of air crew as well as vital equipment inside the hull.

quote from Daily mail Online:-
GRAPHENE
This is a revolutionary material with enormous defence and manufacturing potential. One atom thick and the thinnest and lightest material known to man, it conducts heat, absorbs light, stretches and is 200 times stronger than steel.

It was invented by researchers in 2004 at Manchester University – with China's President Xi Jinping having made an official visit to their lab.

Among its military applications are as coatings on ballistic missiles, wiring in hypersonic vehicles exposed to high temperatures, camouflage of vehicles and body armour for troops.

Chinese reports suggest that the Z-10 attack helicopter – a rival to Boeing's Apache – has been equipped with graphene armour developed at the Beijing Institute of Aeronautical Materials. The institute has ties to three universities in Britain, where it collaborates on two centres specialising in research into the use of graphene in the aerospace industry.

Chinese media have reported plans to use graphene coatings on military installations on artificial islands built in the South China Sea, an area where Beijing has controversially deployed Jin-class ballistic missile submarines armed with nuclear missiles.

Is there any hope to see Z10 ME on 23rd march in PAA colors?
If China had a few ready for immediate transfer, sure. Otherwise, China is probably working on building them as we speak, in which case I doubt it.

Yes they are. China dominates this tech (61% of global patents) and lead the world in production technique, capacity (75% of global capacity) & application like the graphene armor, of which light weight is a feature critical to helos. ERA is good for ground vehicles.

China to sell Z-10ME choppers to Pakistan as Turkish deal fails: ByNews Desk
6 January 2022

Important to note, the Chinese Z-10ME attack helicopter is the equivalent of both the Turkish ATAK-2 and Boeing’s AH-64 Apache.
According to its manufacturer, the Z10ME is an advanced attack helicopter in the 6-ton category, which has day/night combat capability and can carry a variety of weapons such as air-to-ground missiles, air-to-air missiles, rockets, and cannons.
In 2018, Pakistan ordered 30 T129 ATAK attack helicopters from Turkey. However, Pakistan scrapped the deal due to the delays. Reports state that Pakistan is now looking to China for Z-10ME attack helicopter which is the equivalent of the Turkish ATAK-2.
Thursday, during a press conference, DG ISPR revealed that Pakistan “moved on” from the T-129 deal with Turkey. He also stated that Pakistan will “hopefully” get some gunships from China as negotiations are underway.
