Pakistan economy can double to $700 billion by following 'Bangladesh model'

There is so much Pakistan can learn from Bangladesh. Bangladesh is a rising economic power of South Asia and a success story of tolerance and unity in an unstable region of the world.
We can not tell anyone to follow us. If we really have something which can be exemplary for others than let's other point out that. Look at this article, it was suggested by a leader of trading community of Pakistan, not by any Bangladeshi. This is how it should be.

Also we should not self praise. I would say our performance is moderately good, not extraordinarily good. We are still in the bottom rung. We have a long long way to go before claiming Bangladesh has achieve something. Just concentrate on own state affairs and do not get exited if someone shower with praises. Also do not get distressed if face unfair criticism or ridicule. We just need to mind on our own affairs and should not headache about what's other saying about us.

whats special about that why is India and BD struggling to move passed from cheap textile work

We will move from cheap textile work to better textile work. You have moved from cheap textile work to no work.

.
This is because of the cumulative growth factor, Pakistan HDI rank over a period of 72 years of independence and post BD was much higher than India and that of BD, only in the last 8 years India matched Pakistan in GDP per capita and passed it... so was overall HDI for Pakistan over a period of 72 years.

So the cumulative growth advantage(Pakistan per capita GDP was twice that of India) for about 40 years or so, is still there and will take some doing to diminish it.

Like an Indian higher GDP last 6 years or so compared to Pakistan is still not equal to Pakistan higher GDP than India for last 60 years or so(per capita)...

The reason you see less multi dimensional poverty in Pakistan even with a lower per capita GDP(of late) than India...

Also there are some other reasons for it....

The way PKR has devalued and inflation has sky rocketed, Pakistan will fare lower than BD (GNI-PPP) in the near future.

Pakistan's HDI ranking which is below India and BD does not support your cumulative addition to growth argument

The State should only be the entity entitled for mass propagation not politicized media houses. Sadly Musharaf did not have the mental capacity to turn down money when offered something IK is thriving in too.
Mass media in South Asia was a big mistake look at how a gen has created more division than unity again not just a problem in Pakistan but Gangaland has it worst tho look at the how the folks on PDF have become in recent years is a example of media brainwashing

Thats an if again things change pretty rapid these days I am not saying Pakistan will be wealthy and we will be driving in shiny new cars or crap like that but BD and India should stop using random Numbers to make themselves look good

Also we should not self praise. I would say our performance is moderately good, not extraordinarily good. We are still in the bottom rung. Finally a somewhat sane response why doesnt BD members here compare itself to its rival ASEAN nations in exports

Pakistan should consider it a victory if their GDP stays what it is now after 5 years.

You should be concerned is Trump adds more tariffs on your goods and farmers killing themselves over crop failures

BD and India should stop using random Numbers to make themselves look good

Which random number has offended you ?

Where exactly did I try to portray India in this thread ?

No, why only doubling? Pakistan should triple its economy by not following Bangladesh example. But, are they capable of doing so? After all, Pakistan is a proud nation!! Why should the foreign reporters come out with something absurd proposition?

.
I can't believe this thread has gone over 7 pages already.
But then again BD trolls love dyckmeasuring threads and they are banking heavily on the current economic malaise in Pakistan.
Well it's a temporary thing and we will come stronger out of it as long as we don't follow the vassal state model.

.
BD has been doing pretty well on economic fronts.....A case study for Harvard and Oxford !

Lol!!! Is this for real...

Bangladesh Statistics
Dhaka Stock Exchange is the 48th largest exchange out of the 110 stock exchanges we track. The Dhaka Stock Exchange's Market Capitalization is $39.07 Billion adjusted US Dollars as of March 2019.

Pakistan Statistics

PSX's origin's where laid with the establishment of the Karachi Stock Exchange in 1947, the Lahore Stock Exchange in 1970 and the Islamabad Stock Exchange in 1992. As of February 23, 2018, there are 559 companies listed in PSX and the total market capitalisation is $84 billion.
If you are going to do research, do it right.

Listing in PSX:
As on June 24th, 2019 there are 557 companies listed in PSX and the total market capitalization is Rs. 6,966.019 billions. The listing is done on the basis of strict rules and regulations laid out by Securities Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) & the management of Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited. All the listed companies are categorized in various main business sectors. As on June 24th, 2019 there are total 35 sectors listed on Pakistan Stock Exchange which contribute towards the market capitalization and all the listed companies (excluding their future contracts) are divided among these. Rest of the noncontributory sectors are allocated for indexes, futures, bonds etc.

Rs. 6966.019 billion equals to $44.30 billion.

I got this source by following wiki sources which states as recent as April 04, 2019 and Market capitalisation of Rs 7.6 trillion which was at the time $54 billion. This is history by the way. Currently it's $44.30 billion.

Wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pakistan_Stock_Exchange#cite_note-1

Now to burst your other bubble. You are right about Dhaka Stock Exchange and the fact that provided as recent as march 2019 info while for PSX you provided February, 2018 info. At that time DSX had a lot more Market Cap. Regardless though, important thing you missed out on is, Bangladesh has two stock exchange of almost equal Market Capitalisation. First being Dhaka Stock Exchange, the one you mentioned. Another is Chittagong Stock Exchange.

Market Capitalisation
Dhaka Stock Exchange: $39.07 Billion
Chittagong Stock Exchange: $37.06 Billion

Total being: $76.13 Billion

Now to quote what you said, "Lol!!! Is this for real..."

Yes, we should live in the Palaces as the Pakistanis do without working and also without works.

Who says Pakistanis don’t work? Pakistanis are one of the hardest working people in the world, we excel in our studies and careers in Pakistan and all over the world.

Our problem was our government holding us back, now its behind us. New Pakistan is incoming.

There is so much Pakistan can learn from Bangladesh. Bangladesh is a rising economic power of South Asia and a success story of tolerance and unity in an unstable region of the world.

We have completely different ground realities and we exist as part of ME and Southwest Asian/Central Asian dynamic.

You cannot compare two divergent societies with totally different issues.

Market Capitalisation
Dhaka Stock Exchange: $39.07 Billion
Chittagong Stock Exchange: $37.06 Billion

Total being: $76.13 Billion

Even a healthy figure of USD 76.13 billion USD(for BD) doesn't translate into a market cap of three times the Pakistan Stock Exchange figure as quoted in the posted article, if PSX value is taken at USD 54 billion. So that LOL!! stands valid.

Again? Lmao! And why should we have inferiority complex and how do you know that? There are huge numbers of successful black men and women in the world. And now let's take a look at cricket. lots of legendary cricketers were black( west Indian) , loot at football, King of football Pele is black, again boxing Muhammad Ali and lots of others were black.

Actually the reality is you guys ( fair skinned north Indian) have the inferiority complex, that why black and short people do not give you a special fu.ck, since you are noble ( self proclaimed) , so black dwarves must be bow down to you and will accept you as noble.

But here we black dwarves not only not giving you a damn hoot, but also fighting you, and you can't do anything against those black dwarves. And that giving you pain and you are trying to seek attention by projecting you inferiority complex on us. That's the reality.
Now you are comparing yourselves to Africans. Africans are physically strongest people. They dominate almost all sports. They have rich marital traditions.

What about you Bangladeshis? Mughals ruled over you. Then British. Then Pakistans. Then India had to free you. Now sparsely populated Myanmar bullies you. You Bangladeshis need some counselling or you will develop schizophrenia.
