over a 1000 suicides reported in 10 years, even the american troops didn't commit suicide on such a large scale in iraq and afghanistan...and that's only the ones that are "reported". unreported ones are normally a hell of a lot more...

This single line is enough to tell that you know nothing about Northeast india. Natives from northeast India have always been in favour of NRC. In the year 1986 peace accord was signed b/w government of India and Assam student union in which GoI promised NRC something which is currently under implementation in the state.


As far as insurgency is concerned we have been in far worst situation. In mid 60's thousands insurgents besieged an Indian camp for 2 months and shot down two of our Dakota planes dropping supplies in the area.
As of now most of them have given up their arms and have joined politics thanks to the efforts by Indian intel agencies.

as we saw last year...u.s. support is nonexistent for india save a few words raised not for india's support, but for "having peace. in the region". China has expansionist aims and would be all too happy in facilitating Pakistan's ISI is creating a havoc in india if the end result would be China marching in and annexing large swaths of indian territory...nukes are the only thing india can count on but will be utterly useless in a civil war like situation where there own citizens are rising against india.
