PAKISTAN is facing ECONOMIC MELTDOWN as the country runs out of Cash and Energy & Food Costs continue to Escalate. In an attempt to save Energy Electricity Power Stations were SWITCHED OFF overnight however they could not be re-started which resulted in a NATIONWIDE BLACKOUT. This Blackout left Hospitals, Schools & Pakistan's Industry without power for over 12 hours and the estimated loss is more than $100 Million. Pakistan has over $275 BILLION of DEBT and requires over $30 BILLION to service its debt and purchase FUEL & FOOD over the next 6 months. An urgent BAILOUT is needed and Pakistan is in discussions with the IMF about a Bailout Loan however the IMF want Pakistan to agree to Terms that they do not like. What is Pakistan going to do?

We've been "crashing down to complete economic collapse" for a very long time now.
We didn't have enough fuel for trains to last a week, about 3 weeks ago.

I'm beginning to think this is blown out of proportion in different areas.

Whilst it is certain that the common man is suffering from inflation, food and fuel prices, complete economic collapse is debatable in terms of whether it is truly occurring

its not blown out of proportion, its come to a point that things were better under british colonial masters!!!

Pakistan has not yet collapsed but fast drowning into the collapse whirlpool.

Import LCs not being opened, imported goods not being cleared, the Rs on a free fall, forex reserves at alarming low level, no government and the wheels of economy have grinded to a halt.

It’s hard to predict how a collapse will look like. Probably hyperinflation, extreme crime rates and maybe that will compel the public to take out the anger on PDM and the handlers.

Time for Pakistan, and India, to work hard on a strong and real peace agreement.
As Egypt with Israel for exemple. They were hard opponents and now are living in peace, without love, but in peace and some respect.

I agree with @AlKardai and others. Pakistan wont collapse (any further) because it is already there. For the last few months, forex has been strictly rationed and it is importing only as much it is earning (by way of exports and remittances). It has resulted in hardships for sure. But Pakistan isnt thriving but at least it is surviving.

I suspect Pak has bottomed out and with IMF funding which will be inevitably followed by some funding infusion from other friendly countries, Pak should do OK.

Regards

It looks like with the elusive collapse of the country, in the end the Mil Establishment hegemon, power and pelf are collapsing, an institution that need a very high moral ground to function cannot remain intact when people have lost the trust in it.

Maybe it can function for sometime as a cabal, a cartel but with the trust deficit between people and the Idara widening, a cut to size, put in place Mil-Inc. is imminent.

PDM tried to break the largest political party, it is breaking apart.

LOL at real peace agreement. India holds every card under the sun. Pakistan was doing better when IK was forcing every business and governmental entity to learn to live without India and to become self-sufficient. Any Pakistan-India treaty will only bring short term benefits for Pakistan while India makes out like a bandit.
