Anything is a big word with a lot of propositions. I doubt on this "anything" of yours
Nothing is impossible! We can install any latest sub-system on thunder as needed by PAF's operational requirements.

Nahi nahi!!! Tejas is superior as compared to all advanced jets in the world! Please don't indulge that "shakti shaali vimaan" in your debates!

You guys don't have that intellectual power to feel the shaktis of Tejas!

JF-17 in long run,will be more potent than F-16,as we have around 70 f-16,and they will need to retire,sooner or later. And USA is not seems interesting in selling more f-16s to Pak(which is a good thing)...So JF-17 will stil be there with PAF.

  1. But we are in dire need of twin engine heavy fighter...hope PAF finds some solution to that!!!

When PAF will decide to go for heavy jets, it will surely make some arrangements for that too...but so far...no willingness is shown here...!!!

How can PAF come up with its own arrangements? How do you propose PAF comes up with several Billion US dollars on its own? It is a public entity not a private company. It is dependent on government's budget allocation for salaries of its personnel to maintenance of its equipment and facilities. As it stands now, government's budget allocation for it stands no more than $2 billion annually which would hardly be enough to run day to day business leave alone new acquisitions. If money is not there, F-16 is the best available choice under the constraints of budget because of its low price, low operating cost and already established infrastructure to support it. That's the reality as it stands. Every time dreams and reality collide, reality wins. Every time!

well it is was being made in china since early 2015 and from cutting metal to flying takes about 18 months so your looking at mid/lateSeptember to early november for its test flights to take place. knowing china being china they will have it do its maiden flight in late july

Agreed. It will be one of the other benefits to have a two seater. Just a Question here, what could be the dedicated strike hardware or EW platforms? I mean to expect something new other than China? IMO

Pakistan AF need dual seat Advanced platform for Training/ground attack roles that's why PAF has decided to launch dual seat JF-17B Thunder this year.JF-17B Thunder will also attract more buyers in the market and there are some customers who have shown their interest in dual seat JF-17Bs
per JFT project director, Dual seat is only for foreign demonstrations as our pilots have no problem with single seat because they are given 20% training in simulators and 80% in air. PAF have no such need of dual seat attacker JFT as per his statement.

That's in terms of the training, but it may acquire a few for specialized roles. It clearly sees the value of a twin-seater in the context of the F-16D, would be natural to extend that to the JF-17. It could even use the twin-seater to serve as a dedicated EW/ECM asset, like the EA-18G. An asset like that accompanying a flight of JF-17s could give an adversary a lot of trouble.
