Pakistan carries out airstrikes along AfPak border

.
.
90% of pakistan causalities can be reduced with extensive drone op and MRAPs

As talis are ambusing in out of cities rural areaa

But seems these are concepts foreign to "battle hardened" pakistani armed forces

Check out any video you will see mostly its ambush with ak47s nothing else

Drones won't help much unless enemy is concentrated outside populated areas. MRAPs and other armored vehicles will help. That kind of procurement will require time and money.

Operation name is classified (can't reveal), was one of the largest combined Army, Airforce, Support Force. Intel/Intel Paramilitaries Operations.

Including on Air Force side, AWAC, Drones, Fighter Jets (F16, Thunder), JDAM's REK.
Drones also participating in Strike. SSW also participated.

Support Force cyber ......nuff said. SAT, and same from bros.

Army SSG, LCB, choppers, artillery, new stand off PGM's.

Many wheels moving, the conductors were conducted symphony, showed work between Army/Airforce has been proven in battle, battlefield data links and C2 was exemplary.
As I suspected, like a mini Swift Retort with combined arms applications. Go guns blazing, leave no one behind. i believe this will create much needed deterrence.

Who created TTP? Whose policies created TTP?
Let me answer you that question.

- CIA found out that Al Qaida was responsible (Again) for attacks on American soil.
- Al qaida's control and command center was found to be in Afghanistan
- US starts invasion of Afghanistan to punish the planners and break the control and command of Al qaida
- Pakistan is an ally of US against Al qaida
- Al qaida terrorists start running from Afghanistan using porous border of Af-Pak
- Local people give shelter to al qaida
- Pakistan asks them not to host Al qaida members or if they want to stay here they will have to give up the militancy
- Local militants do not listen to state of Pakistan
- Pakistan launches an operation to catch/kill the alqaida terrorists because they continue to cross into Afghanistan to attack US and allied forces
- Propaganda ensues by militants and they form TTP umbrella with 36 different militant organizations
- TTP calls Pakistani fauj an apostate army and launches Jihad (read Fitna in this case) against Pakistani people, army and all other institution

Unfortunately, some of my compatriots think that it is fault of Pakistan to fight militants who had made some of areas of Pakistan as no go areas and used those areas for all kind of illicit activities. Ask the locals what they think of TTP, the people who were forced to pay ransom and extortion money to drug and warlords of those areas.

. .
Was this part of the bigger picture. Shabazz as PM cools things on the east and army will concentrate on the western border. With this one air strike, the other side will look to answer back and more firepower will be required on the west. Will we be giving air corridor to Americans for air strikes or this is strictly Pakistan offensive.

.
Maybe thats the only time once you find them concentrated at one place, with their guards down.
Well . . . I am not the technical military person. But my layperson logic still tells me that there must be a better way.

P.S. yeas ago I opposed use of air raids (in 2014) in tribal areas. IK also gave example of IoK that even Indians never air bombed IoK.
I said same again yesterday, post deleted for reason "unsubstantiated" probably due to tweet of children casualties, despite that footage being real. But no worries.
I warned years ago there will be back lash. We saw MANY suicide attacks by revengeful.
I want to warn again. Heed or not, upto the authorities.

Army understood it the same way back then:

This is what I wrote in 2014. With this current raid, keeping Afghan history and mentality in mind, I am fearful that hard achieved progress over past 9 years may be at risk:

Yes, there are always better ways, once you have better resources (tech, intel, strike etc). However, you must also observe that TTP has 30-40 killed in this strike, wounded separate......and how many pictures of civilian bodies did you see? That is a a very less proportion. Civilian deaths must always be otherwise avoided, even as collateral. But reducing collateral damage is of another domain once your enemy hides within the civilians themselves. It makes things a bit murkier and nastier.

5 children [2 infants] & 1 woman = 6
And who knows there were more that were not video taped?

6/30 = 20 %
To me that's too much collateral.

Besides we are a muslim country:

Not even animals & bees, & fruit bearing trees, inhabited places!!!
One point to be noted "do not be cowardly". . . Think about it, are air raids on residential houses bravery or cowardly??? even if criminals were hiding among families.

Politics aside, Shahbaz Sharif has a tremendous record when it comes to dealing with security threats. CTD under his watch went ahead and killed Malik Ishaq, alongwith his whole gang, (something that was unthinkable for decades), and then neutralised every violent LeJ member in the Province. I do have my differences with him using force without judicial oversight, but it did work for the Province.

He as a Chief Executive (if given authority) will definitely be on the offensive, and will be more likely to authorise cross-border strikes, something the ex-Prime Minister was reluctant to do.

If you'd ask me, if the Military needs authorisation for these strikes, they absolutely do. Even for paperwork, this mess is too big to get into alone, the Political leadership has to take the ownership.

Anyways, I'm glad for this tweet, and I hope the current Prime Minister pushes ahead with his aggressive policy when it comes to dealing with terrorists. We can all fight internally over politics and say whatever we like, but when it comes to the State and Pakistan's national security, we have to stand behind whoever is the Prime Minister.
It is easy to start something, do you know where it is going to end us up? Ask NATO and the Russians. If we don't learn from them we will be incredibly stupid. Our enemies are not the common Afghan but the Indian trained terrorists who are paid fistful of dollars to attack Pakistan. We need to have two throng approach, one is to link up pro Pakistan Taliban and two link up with Pro-Pakistan Kashmir liberation fighters so that we can nip this in the bud before it gets any worse.

Dear, like i said, in this strike we have 30-40 TTP killed, more wounded....imagine...it took six TTP guys only to kill 140 odd APS children. And here you have killed or neutralized maybe 60 -70 of them.....if we use maths again, it means ten times APS destruction averted, no?

Moreover, the way you are calculating collateral damage, let me give you another perspective to work on....

There were probably 1000 Pakistan soldiers employed on ground, they were supported by gunships and PAF jets who have otherwise limited visibility to whatever is there on the ground. And ALL this big machine, in this strike, managed to kill or neutralize 60 odd TTP guys, with only 6 civilian deaths. Isnt it good enough?

Dear, civilian killing is always disapproved, but it should not stop us from waging war against our enemies.

No, our agencies should focus on neutralising threats on boarders rather than toppling over governments. As per them, its ok to have a criminal on bail be a PM. Plus as part of this deal with MQM, Altaf Hussain is returning to Pakistan. Mohsin Dawar and his party is a reality which our agencies and great minds created! These great minds already lost East Pakistan in 1971. Is it all good? Sounds like a great plan doesn't it? There's more evidence that our current military leadership has gone rabid than anything which suggests otherwise.

Haq is very clear. You can not kill an innocent because he was in way of your enemy. Hazrat Ali R.A. let the enemy go just when he was about to kill him because he spat on Hazrat Ali R.A. face. He said if I kill you now, I fear my anger would be one of the reasons to kill you and that would be unjust. Muslim only kills for Allah & haq, not for personal satisfaction.
You sound very much like an adolescent who just found deen.

Look. IEA supports TTP. TTP kills innocents. TTP also kills Pakistani soldiers. What is Pakistan supposed to do? Let them kill us?

A lot more nuance is needed but all you can manage is telling others about your interpretation of Quran in a very narrow sense. TTP are fitnah & dealing with them has really taxed us over the years. TTP operatives use their families as human shields & kill our civilians indiscriminately. So in order to respect Quranic injuctions as you see them, we ought to just let them kill us? Wow, what a discovery....

I hope you know what fitnah means & that fitnah is worse than murder according to Quran. Those who spread fitnah must be dealt with. I can give you multiple examples from Islamic history of how fitnah was handled. In just the last century (late 40s, early 50s), a caravan of Pakistani hajis was looted by the Arab Bedouin. Guess what King AbdulAziz did to them and their families?

We do not live in an era of sword warfare when you had to be in physical contact with the enemy. In technological warfare, there are civilian casualties, particularly when used as human shields. You just have to live with this fact. Any deaths that occur are on the people who spread fitnah, not those who act to stop them.
