What's new

Pakistan buys additional medium-range SAMs

. . . .
Let Chinese make copy of S 400 We buy it's copy with more better range and missile

.
What about Pakistan's Missile interceptor and missile defence arrangements against Indian Surface, Air and Sea launching missiles.
i dont think Pakistan is perusing or having any missile interceptor program ....

.
good news for Pakistan air defense. now we should buy enough so that it make impossible for enemy to enter Pakistan air space.
its being long anticipated deal and can anyone tell me about the status of HQ-9?

. .
Is India is a part of american missile defence shield system?

. .
With Hq9?

AFAIK
HQ-9 - In October 2003 it was reported that China had closed a deal with Pakistan to supply an unspecified number of FT-2000 systems, an anti-radiation variant of the HQ-9 long range air defence system, although in March 2009 a report was published stating that Pakistan was not considering importing the missile. It was reported in mid-2008 that Pakistan intended to purchase a high altitude air defence and missile defence system and the FD-2000, another variant of HQ-9, was expected to be chosen

i am no expert in this field so pls can you tell us will this 9 batteries be enough for our mid range sam need or we still need more

PAF has Crotale and MBDA Spada 2000 for short-range while Army has the FM-90 (HQ-7B)

For medium-range, PAF has HQ-2B and LY-80 (HQ-16) while Army has no medium-range SAM

There is no long-range SAM in service with PAF and Army

So, there are serious gaps in long-range and medium-range Air Defence

HQ-9 is being considered for long-range SAM requirement.
More batteries of LY-80 will be purchased likely. Pakistan is also interested in Buk-M2.

The long-range SAM that will be acquired will have significant BMD capability as well. More batteries will mean more protection. No BMD system is currently planned.

Looks like entire border will be provided SAM coverage to counter any aerial intrusion including UAV's, this can also provide coverage to forward army formations.

Only long-range SAMs can provide coverage to entire border. Medium-range SAMs are generally for airfields, nuclear sites and military bases. :coffee:

That is truly a great news. Now PD should concentrate on acquiring long range air defence system.

HQ-9 SAM is being considered..
