SATUMA Jassos UAV System is a day/night autonomously guided UAV system capable of performing surveillance up to a distance of 200 kms.

Jassos has been specifically designed to meet the need of reconnaissance and target identification. It is quite sad that Pakistan has to resort to imported UAVs, despite us even selling border patrol crafts to the U.S. Its possible that we may buy on a ToT basis which hasn't been disclosed, and trying to advance our technology.

rememer pakistan wants this UAV with the technology..and use it to improve their own source code for the software...

Cool didn't know about that. PAC Kamra always tries to get technology of transfer of the little things that are transferable, then they make out things quite well one of the best in the world. Take it an example of Super Mushak, Pakistan bought Mushaks TOT and now exporting even better version of it, Super Mushak.

Same goes with Al-Khalid. China provided us T-90 standard tank, and see what it came out to be! Now beating the hell out of T-98 II and T-90.

Our UAV's offer good quality but we need to improve our optical and electronic assortiment.
Don't forget that most of the technology we've applied in our UAV has been brought from aborad, many just off the shelves!
It's time to move a step higher...

Indeed, most of the UAV's that we have are totally off the shelves, they get the technology from different UAV's and that means even getting 2-3 from outside and then get their technology by learning it and later simply integrating into all the UAV's if needed. But what so ever, i dont consider it as bad, its typically beneficial for us, and as long as we are going to have latest, one of the top UAV's in the world. I am fine with that, but then again what we have done so far shouldn't be forgotten and what so ever we have learned should be saved for future.

The reason why U.S. is pursuing UAV so much comes down to two factors. Firstly labour costs in the U.S. are much higher than in Pakistan. Therefore by replacinng soldiers with UAV they save a lot of money. Pakistan's labour costs are much less and therefore purchasing UAV will have much less benefits. Secondly prematuraly acquiring UAVs will unnecessarily increase unemployment in the Army. The reasons that the structure of U.S. military and Pakistan is different is because of different circumstances.

The second reason is that U.S. public is Extremely casuality averse. Therefore by replacing soldiers with UAVs less soldiers are killed while more UAVs are killed. UAV's dont have families, or funerals and cant vote. If casualities were not an issue u.s. would have less UAV's and more soldiers.

Therefore the imperative to acquire UAV's by the Pakistan military is rightfully low. There are many other programs which require more funding than UAV's.

manning a 3000 mile boarder (sea aswell) with a line of men is very expensive...you can see larger distances from air. since US is not in a state of rediness against mexico they do not need to protect their south with a army. all they need is a few battalions covering the entire boarder and then if problem arises (smuglers), send a patrol to intercept....Pakistan also has UAVs deployed in the boarder but because the circumstance is difrent as we are in a state of full rediness all the time against india and also in the west where there is a on going war it is not feasable to have only UAVs monitering the boarder. in pakistans case there are thousands of indians on the other side as compared to less then 20 or 30 smugglers..... thus it is imperative to mount higher numbers as the enemy may cross anytime. never the less UAVs are still used to keep an eye on the enemy movement and ilegal crossings (these UAVs have thermal imaging&#33
