No, the additional order was 2 more, so IAF will have a total of 5 x A50 Phalcons.
Dude, I think you're being a little too tough. On AWACS, since it's the cheapest system in the world, word on 'export potential' has been there since the start.
It' probably is the cheapest radar system in the world, but till now we don't have any really comparable performance specs or even costs. What we know so far, are estimates based on the ground tests DRDO made, but the integration into the aircrafts and all necessary tests are still going and must be finished as soon as possible, because we need these aircrafts patroling alongside our borders, not on air shows in foreign countries.
Again, I have nothing against PR or exports, but not by compromising Indias defence!
PR for the same AWACS from earlier Aero India air shows, so why not do the same in Bahrain? Why waste time and money to use one of the few test and integration aircrafts we have currently, to not only make a static display, but even a flight display as the news states?
