I know a PAF delegation visited Ukrain some time ago to evaluate the Su-27 but the deal was blocked by India.

Ok it was back in the 90's and there were 8 aircraft used as aggressors (with India purchasing mig 29's it makes sense) they were leased for 3 1/2 years then the lease was extended. (I believe that it expires next year) They are not combat ready and cannot be used as such.

Ok now the source in question is a person with a lot of connections and it was not laughed out of the place I heard it from.

Hey I have been wrong before........but this is from a really good source.......He predicted the purchase of bth erieye and e2c plus he saw the planes on the ground when he was based at a airbase.
Bear in mind guys it is from Ukraine not Russia and eevnn the U.S. had 30 or so of these planes (as well as a few other countries like germany etc etc.....

As soon as the Sovjet Union started to disintegrate countries like Ukraine, Belorus, Kazachstan and Uzbekistan bacame black market for weapons. In some cases US even bought sensitive stuff or helped Russia with funds to get it out of those countries.

PAF was interested in SU-27 as agressors but never got thru the deal.
I have this info from my own contacts in the military, its not a secret though.

Keep in mind that Ukraine and Russia were involved in a dispute about the huge Black Sea fleet and most of the inventory in the Ukrainian Army and Airforce.
Ukraine used it to blackmail Moscow.

Anyways, AFAIK and most other defence journos, IAF has got experience with F-16's with all the foreign excercises that it is doing on a war footing with all the countries, and all the F-16's they practiced with were equal or superior to the Pakistani F-16's.

This will enhance defensive and offensive capabilities i.e. PAF’s deep strike capability as well as endurance for long CAP and BARCAP missions. Basically our major aim is to provide a complete aerial refueling system for our JF-17 Thunders which will form our backbone in near future.

Yeah it will mean that the J-10's and JF-17's will extended flight time. Apparently the the BLK 52's will have conformable fuel tanks (at least some of them will have all the features of a BLK 60 but without the AESA radar)
