ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the US Senate Armed Services Committee John McCain has said the Pakistan Army, under the able leadership of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, inflicted losses on terrorists after great sacrifice.

In a statement about the committee members’ meeting with the COAS held in Washington, DC, he said: “I thanked General Sharif for his leadership and expressed my appreciation for the sacrifice of so many brave Pakistani soldiers in the fight against terrorism.” The senator said the meeting was productive and informative for all members of the committee. “We value our relationship with Pakistan during these very challenging times. Our meeting focused on the situation in Afghanistan, fight against ISIL and ways to improve coordination and cooperation between our two countries against terrorist enemies. I hope we will continue working closely together in the interest of both our countries,” he added.

Without us USA wouldn't have gotten anywhere in the war on terror. We got Khalid Sheikh Muhammed and Ramzi Yousuf. US should stop its blame game and give their allies respect. That is all we desire. We are not tools to be used by America and be discarded. Treat us as allies, not your slaves.

USA has only given us 15 billlion dollars in aid; meanwhile we've lost up to 63 billion dollars in DAMAGES alone.

Pakistan-US relations will always be transactional. It was never about being equals.

More like $31 billion so far, and more coming, according to this chart:

Pakistan has been well compensated and will continue to be so. Gen. Sharif productive visit should clear the way for resuming CSF payments to Pakistan.

Not really aid more like compensation for expenses incurred.

$31 Billion against a loss of $____ Billion.

And tell me, how much value have you placed on the more than 50,000 killed and hundreds of thousands wounded?

You seem to have answered your own question. Pakistan Army did not launch operations into FATA until June 2014! How many lives could've been saved if operations were launched earlier? All the while, Pakistan is collecting "compensation" from US.

Have you been living under a rock for the past decade. Pakistan has lauched at least 6-7 military operations in Fata since 2003. Compensation ? we are an integral part of the coalition that was formed after invasion of Afghanistan. That 31 billion is not aid, its refurbishment for the logistical, intelligence and different services we have provided to the US over the course of a decade.

Sounds smart,

5 Star General @cloud4000 : "Alright troops we're going to launch a full scale assault on the heartland of terrorist hideouts."

"But sire, what about the outlying areas? "

"Forget them."

Six or seven military operations since 2003? What was accomplished exactly by these operations? It was not until the rise of TTP, and arrival of Gen. Sharif, when Operation Zarb-e-Azb was finally launched.

$31 billions is combination of reimbursement (i.e. CSF) and aid, some of which has nothing to do with the WOT.

What they did not mention was that these Talebans were first recruited, trained and equipped by ISI and Pakistan Army. Now these Talebans have gone freelance and commit terrorism in Pakistan after being paid by foreign powers.

Accomplishments ? Have you ever heard of a place called Swat ?. Forget FATA , in 2007 TTP controlled more than 30% of KPK (N.W.F.P) and most of FATA.

It started with Bajaur.

Then PA moved and cleared Swat valley. Here an entire Militant faction named TNSM was defeated. This was when its leader Mullah Fazlullah (current TTP chief) escaped to Kunar Afghanistan.

Which was followed by a separate offensive in Mommand agency.

Then it was Orakzai and Khurram agency. After this Operation most of the northern part of FATA was cleared.

Then finally Army went into South Waziristan

At least get the spelling right man ! If you had an iota of knowledge about the Taliban, you would have known that Taliban initially had nothing to do with the Pakistani establishment. They sprung out from Kandahar, as a result of an anti-pashtun violence committed by the Tajik commanders during the civil war. We were always rooting for Hekmatyar's Hezbi Islami instead of the Taliban.

You do know the whole "master mind" behind the creation of Taliban was the US to fight off the USSR, right?
Pakistan was a ace under sleeves during the time, considering we didnt want Soviets to get near us, whatsoever.

When you fund something that your going to discard, do it by indirect means where theres no traces left of you, and just in that case, US had it built up through us to hide their trials.

We're nothing but a scapegoat, for the denialists. and that, also includes you who have fallen into the same cateogry.
