What's new

Pakistan Army to join 20 Muslim states in the largest military exercises in history of Middle East.

Whether you agree or not, Pakistan has one of the most elite militaries in the world and although an Islamic state, Pak is modern compared to largely primitive Iraq.
I agree about that I have no problem with actually we sent our kids to train in Pakistan and made some shopping too I don't know why the Pakistanis get me wrong.

Yes there some Pakistanis who support our enemies for sectarians reason but other than that we have nothing but good relationship.

It isn't the 'Pakistanis who support enemies for sectarians reason' you should be worried about. It's your own leadership who 'support enemies for sectarians reason'.

.
Go on then. Tell us about the wonders of the non-sectarian regime in Iraq. Regale us with tales of how it treated all sects and groups fairly. Tell us that none of Iran's proxies had any influence in Iraq's politics.

We're all ears effendi!
My freind Trust me on this Iraq is real democratic country that's why some hate that for their own interests.

Our problem in Iraq not with Sunnis it is with baathist and Takfirees because they are sectarians to the bones they don't accept to see shiite ruling their country that's why they attack the shiite towns villages army posts we don't respond the way you think it s because we know they backed by many states that want to see Iraq stand against Iran and Syria and they want to see Iraq another dictatorship state like before that's it.

You know the head of the house of representative are Sunni the prime president is Sunni MoD is Sunni 9 army generals Are Sunnis and more it is a war against the shiite ruling their country.

I never blame Pakistan for that but I blame GCCs yes and Turks yes.

I would say your problem is with the Takfiris from Iran.

"Iran is an empire once again at last, and its capital is Baghdad," said Ali Younusi, an adviser to Iranian Supreme Leader Khamenei.

Last month, Suleimani gloated: "We are witnessing the export of the Islamic Revolution throughout the region. From Bahrain and Iraq to Syria, Yemen and North Africa."

Please show some evidence that the GCC has been funding anti-Shia militias in Iraq. As for declaring that Turkey has been involved in fomenting ethnic strife in Iraq....that's beyond crazy. Happy to see the evidence though.

That's exactly what the Saudis media say day and night.

Yes, the whole of Pakistan is terrified of the Saudi army turning up in Karachi with their tanks. That's the sort of scenario that has Raheel Sharif waking up at night in a cold sweat.

And you're lapsing into cliches. I've just provided you with quotes from Iran's ruling elite stating how they regard Iraq. Please show me something similar from the GCC states.

On the one hand, you're laughing at the fighting capabilities of the Saudis and on the other you're claiming they're a potent threat. It seems to change depending on which serves your purpose.

.
Tunisia, sent two officers, and it was like the whole Tunisian army is participating. How many other countries sent a cat or two to be in the saudi masquerade of the century?

.
Man not again. Pakistan should distance itself away from this middle east hornet nest.
Being a military power have its pros but being draged into every regional conflict is frustrating

I met friends from Iraq during first gulf war.

The way we see Iraq, was with respect as a leader, Iraq was everything ...

My problem is simple; Iraq sold itself to Iran a renegade country which has not done any good to anyone.

Iran has the same policies in Pakistan, and they have done the same thing in Iraq.

Iraq should have done better ... Iran could have been your shoe today.

Pakistan joins 'Thunder of the North' military exercise in Saudi Arabia

RIYADH: Armed forces from around 20 countries including Pakistan and Malaysia are gathering in northern Saudi Arabia Sunday for "the largest, most important military manoeuvres" ever staged in the region, the official news agency SPA reported.

The "Thunder of the North" exercise involving ground, air, and naval forces sends a "clear message" that Riyadh and its allies "stand united in confronting all challenges and preserving peace and stability in the region", SPA said.

Saudi Arabia is currently leading a military campaign against Houthi rebels in its southern neighbour Yemen.

Last December, it also formed a new 35-member coalition to fight "terrorism" in Islamic countries. Sunday's announcement also comes as the kingdom, a member of the US-led coalition targeting the Islamic State group, said it has deployed war planes to a Turkish air base in order to “intensify” its operations against IS in Syria.

SPA did not specify when the military exercise will begin or how long it will last.

However, the agency called it the “most important and largest in the region's history” in terms of the number of nations taking part and the weaponry being used.

Twenty countries will be taking take part, SPA said. Among them are Saudi Arabia's five partners in the Gulf Cooperation Council, as well as Chad, Egypt, Jordan, Malaysia, Morocco, Pakistan, Senegal and Tunisia, it added.

A Saudi source said on Thursday that members of the new "anti-terrorism" coalition will gather in Saudi Arabia next month for its first publicly announced meeting.

Riyadh has said the alliance would share intelligence, combat violent ideology and deploy troops if necessary.
