3. Maj. Gen. Tanvir Tahir (EME)

Lt. Gen. Tanvir was my Company Commander at JCB. He was DG ISI Technical as a Maj. Gen. and his office was at Hamza Camp (formerly Ojri Camp).

He is a very capable officer and a great human being.

I hope we dont indulge in any knee-jerk conspiracy theories like Gen. Kiyani did not have support of the Corps Cmdrs or that the ISI chief has been replaced on the behest of the US.
Once again let me re-emphasise that these are routine changes in command of various army formations which is the sole perogative of the CoAS. the present chief has been in charge of the army for ~11 months, which is ample time for him to gauge / evaluate the performance of his formation commanders and then decide who amongst all the formation commanders can best support his vision for the army during the CoAS 3-year term which ends in Nov-2010.
As to the change in the DG-ISI, please note that Lt.Gen. Nadeem Taj has been transferred as corps commander XXX corps at gujranwala and therefore enjoys the trust of the CoAS. the new DG-ISI, Lt.Gen. Ahmad Shuja Pasha has been heavily involved as DGMO in the military ops against the militants, so makes good sense.

fatman17,dear sir
sory, to say without any"conspiracy theories" that ISI chief has been replaced on the behest of the US, but! notthing to worry about , because after all they are paying for WOT, & if they feel good with "new DG-ISI, Lt.Gen. Ahmad Shuja Pasha " then its no harm, to bring the man of thier choice!;):D:tup:

With 13 new lt generals the situation has become all clear now ... COAS Kayani wont opt for extension as Kayani and 12 other generals are retiring over the next six months !

.
Commandant FC, Maj. Tariq Khan was a highly deserving general . No other general has seen the heat of battle as he did .

now here's my theory.

CoAS Kiyani gets a extension of min. 1 year. and now since IG-FC has been promoted to Lt.Gen, he has a 3-year extension in his tenure. look for Lt.Gen. Tariq Khan to be the 'Win" horse for the position of the next CoAS. (in 1-yr or 2-yr depending on Kiyani's extension).

any takers!
