Pakistan Army negotiating contact for T-129 helicopter

. . .
We'd certainly appreciate any help we can get from our Pakistani brothers. Turkey is currently working on developing a satellite launcher. Once we have that pretty much all that's missing toward an ICBM will be reentry technology and "a warhead with some kick".

Why is it stated on wiki that we have 17 z10's on order, anyone??

That was to be the case if it passed the tests. The ATAK did and came out on top. Some fanboy edited wiki but no one corrected it later after Z 10s failure.

The Z-10 wI'll probably complement the Atak as there is still a need for a heavy Anti tank chopper.
The Z-10's MTOW is apparently 500 kg heavier than the T129. However, it doesn't appear to be much - if any - difference in the payload. 'Heavy' attack helicopters would be the AH-1Z (MTOW: 8,400 kg), Mi-28NE (MTOW: 10,900 kg) and Rooivalk (8,750 kg). Each has its advantage. The AH-1Z is already in place, so additional units won't strain the logistics set-up. The Mi-28NE shares the same engine platform as the Mi-171. Denel is marketing the Rooivalk 2 with ToT and co-production.

And, ATAK-II will belong to the "heavy" category!!! Once Pak has established the manufacturing, R&D, maintenance etc. set-ups it'll be linearly incremental efforts...

Ismail Demir said the ATAK 2 would have a MTOW of 6,000 kg, but prior to that, Temel Kotil said they were designing an ATAK variant with a MTOW of 8,000 kg.

ATak-II project is commenced in the light of Atak-1 experience. SSM gives the MTOW of new generation Atak "6 ton". I think TAI manager made a speech defect with saying 8 tone, since It is clear to use domestic 1400shp engine and transmission unit on Atak-II which is actually designed for T-625 utility copter (6 ton). In the scope of an interview of TAI manager in previous years, He had expressed to increase the payload capacity of wings and replace older with new generation "lighter but more intelligent" avionics with an appropriate MMW radar installation without loosing any pylon capacity. In paralel to those statements, We may predict that Aselsan CATS (60-65kg) will replace 300T flir (120kg). The total ATGM capacity of wings will be increased to 16 (Atak-2) from 12 (Atak-1). Most probably, Meteksan made MMW radar will be integrated on mast and EW suits designed to protect the platform 360 degrees against any type of missile threats, will have adequate adaptation on fuselage. Atak-2 will give credit where It is due in terms of fire power/protection/mobility equation on its 6 ton MTOW class.

Agzindan bal damliyor resmen. Maashallah. Looking forward to it. What is the development timeline for Atak-2? Any idea when we can start seeing its preliminary 3D renderings?
